Only God Can Change A Heart But We Can Restrain Them From Evil

Proverbs 29:18 “18 Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law.”
Proverbs 19:18 “18 Discipline your son, for there is hope; do not set your heart on putting him to death.”
Proverbs 22:15 “15 Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline drives it far from him.”
Call To Action
1. Explain your accountability to the Lord and dreams for them.
2. Explain the why.
3. Keep them from evil and get them around as much good as possible.

Real Love Will Discipline

Proverbs 23:13–14 (ESV): 13 Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you strike him with a rod, he will not die. 14 If you strike him with the rod, you will save his soul from Sheol. Better to strike your child with a rod and save his soul than to neglect your responsibility to restrain them from evil.
Proverbs 13:24 (ESV): 24 Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.

Have the difficult conversation quickly.
Love the person more than you want their approval. Hebrews 12:11 (ESV): 11 For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields

The Lord has entrusted you with this role.
He is desires to use us to develop others
