Subject:He waited Luke 15:11-32
Sub Topic: Lord I thank you for the Grace Period
Theme: The Grace (Patience) of a Father!
Context
15th Chapter of Luke is made up of three familiar parables, one about a lost sheep, one about a lost coin, and a final one about a lost son, really two lost sons, one found and one not. And Jesus is teaching us much here about what makes heaven rejoice. That really is the theme of the chapter. When the sheep is found there is joy and rejoicing. When the coin is found there is joy and rejoicing, and when the son is found there is joy and rejoicing.
Intro
A very familiar passage of scripture many of us may have first heard in Sunday school or some type of bible class or even movie or book. On the surface it would be convey a simple story of a lost son who ran off to have a good time and then when his luck ran out would decide to return home but a careful study and closer observation would reveal there are some fundamental truths and as well as vital lessons we can draw from this parable that are applicable to each of us especially as believers and children of God. The substratum of my message is not based on the Son who and his own selfish desires not is it the Father and loving kindness demonstrated at the return of his beloved child nor is it the 3rd character in this story who would represent the pharisees and scribes (elaborate on them) but I’m more concerned about that time span or the process if you will between the lost son realizing and his repentant experience and the Father receiving him, I want to highlight the Grace Period!
The Grace Period- What does this mean (give an illustration or joke about me delaying a payment when I realize i had more time lol)
