[CONTEXT]
The Lord of Israel and indeed of all the world is worthy of trust (1:1-39:8).
Through his prophets, he called on his people in Israel and Judah to trust him (1:1-12:6).
Because his people didn’t trust him, they experienced his judgment, but he also promised them redemption (1:1-6:13).
Not even the faithlessness of Judah’s leaders could stop God’s plans (7:1-8:22).
The sovereign Lord will redeem his people by bringing forth the Messiah as Prince of Peace (9:1-12:6).
In Isaiah 10, the downfall of the current big-bad, Assyria, is promised and contrasted in Isaiah 11 with Judah’s future restoration.
That restoration will come through the righteous reign of the branch.
