I would like to introduce to you Alan Garrett Cantey, Graduate of Brewbaker Technology Magnet High School, Class of 2024. Garrett’s parents are Ron & Amy Cantey, His paternal grandparents are Bill Boy & Rebecca Cantey, and his maternal grandmother is Ms. Patsy Sears. If you are here as family or as special guests of Garrett today would you please stand?
Garrett’s accomplishments at Brewbaker Technology Magnet High School include:
He participated in a medical internship class that allowed him to gain exposure to Veterinarian clinics through internship.
National Technical Honor Society, 11th-12th grade
In church life, he was able to go and work on a mission trip with Carpenter's for Christ in Illinois. He was a part of a team that built a church to completion in one week.
He has been a faithful youth member of the Mt Zion Baptist Church.
As well, Garrett sings in our adult choir.
Garrett was accepted to Southern Union Community College and Troy University and he will be attending Troy University in the fall studying in the Biomedical Field with aspirations to be accepted to Auburn and complete a Doctorate in Veterinarian medicine.
I want to share a couple of encouraging thoughts from famous people on the subject of graduation:
Muhammad Ali (the Great Boxer)-”If they can make penicillin out of moldy bread, they sure can make something out of you.”
Elbert Hubbard-”Don’t take life too seriously. No one makes it out alive.”
Well, on a more serious note, you know I will have some more encouraging words to share with you.
