Does the Holy Spirit play a role in our personal revival?

What is it’s purpose?

Jesus give us the purpose.

Acts 1:4–8 CSB

While he was with them, he commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the Father’s promise. “Which,” he said, “you have heard me speak about; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit in a few days.” So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, are you restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?” He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

“YOU WILL RECEIVE POWER”

SOME OF US ARE LIKE “WOW, NOW WHAT DOES THE MEAN?”

Lamp plugged in or not plugged in.

A lot of us go through life without being plugged in.

Lets look at it another way

2 Kings 6:4–7 CSB

So he went with them, and when they came to the Jordan, they cut down trees. As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron ax head fell into the water, and he cried out, “Oh, my master, it was borrowed!” Then the man of God asked, “Where did it fall?” When he showed him the place, the man of God cut a piece of wood, threw it there, and made the iron float. Then he said, “Pick it up.” So he reached out and took it.

Way was it such a big deal to loss the axe head?

The power to cut the tree down came from the axe head.

Don’t be a stick just beating against a tree with no power.

So if the Holy Spirit is the power way do we fell so weak?

THREE REASONS WAY

Absent

Grieved

Disobeyed

Absent : a reason not to have the power of the Holy Spirit is not have a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Grieved: To grieve the Holy Spirit is to silence the Holy Spirt. Have you ever take a person somewhere they really don’t want to be they just shut down.

Ephesians 4:30–32 CSB

And don’t grieve God’s Holy Spirit. You were sealed by him for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, anger and wrath, shouting and slander be removed from you, along with all malice. And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.

Paul doesn’t say, While unless that is just the way you are.

I wonder if Paul would have the had the power of the Holy Spirit if he still was have christian killed because that was has nature.

If you grieve the Holy Spirit you have no power to serve the LORD!!!

Disobeyed: I think we all understand this one the Holy Spirit tell us do this or that and we say no.

So how should we interact with the Holy Spirit?

THREE WAYS TO INTERACT

HAVE

HEAR

HONOR

Have: The way you have the Holy Spirit is to accept the LORD JESUS CHRIST as you personal LORD and savior.

HEAR: Listen to what the Holy Spirit is say to you and follow it. It have been described and a stile calm voice.

Honor: You have the Holy Spirit to lead you. This is the same Holy Spirit Jesus sent to us.

John 16:7 CSB

Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth. It is for your benefit that I go away, because if I don’t go away the Counselor will not come to you. If I go, I will send him to you.

We honor the Holy Spirit by following His lead.
