- A Deliverer
On September 1, 1939, Adolf Hitler and his German forces invaded Poland.
To which, Poland was defeated quickly before the Allies could launch an effective defensive strategy against the Nazis.
This was the beginning of World War II.
Then later in the following years, Germany successfully invaded,
Denmark 1940
Norway 1940
Belgium 1940
Netherlands
Luxembourg
France
Both, Yugoslavia, and Greece in 1941

At that time in history, the world was ripe for disaster.
There was a madman on the lose, bent on conquering the world, and causing a disruption on the normal flow of things.
He promoted a demonic philosophy of the complete annihilation of the Jewish people first,
Then those of us of different races other than Aryan.
When the German forces occupied Czech territory, in 1939, this convinced Britain and France, that he and Germany would eventually come for them too.
They knew war was inevitable if they wanted to maintain there freedom.
What they desperately needed was a deliverer.
Someone to take charge and lead the effort.
And if that meant war, then so be it.
Britain’s answer to that threat was a man named, Winston Churchill, whom on June 4, 1940, delivered a speech inspiring their resolved resistance against this global threat of Nazi Germany, while France was fighting for their lives.

With his rallying cry titled: "We Shall Fight on the Beaches"
“We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, We shall never surrender.”

Later, to the south, the country of India had grown tired of the British foot on their necks and were ready to throw off the shackles of the British Empire form them.
They too awaited a deliver who came in by the name of Mahatma Gandhi.
Who in 1942, delivered a famous speech, calling for his people to move towards independence and liberty, but without violence.
And, more recently, the American black population grew tired of relentless segregation in the very land they helped to defend multiple times since its birth.
Found a deliver, a person who would lead the charge advocating for their civil rights, in the man named, Martin Luther King.
Who in 1963 delivered his famous “I have a dream” speech.
And now, lastly in our own contemporary time,
I woke up this week to the news permeating our news outlets, many of our prestigious centers of higher learning,
Our universities, are being held hostage by the radical ideology that has been reborn targeting for now, once again the Jews.
But this time not through Nazi Germany, but in support of a terrorist group that raped, pillaged, and massacred men, women and their babies in their homes while asleep, on October 7 2023.
Somehow, we were asleep at the wheel, and let these parasites into our society
And now we too find ourselves in this country, in the need of a Deliverer,
Someone who will lead this charge to regain our country back from these insufferable people.
I pray that this person come soon, because for now their target is the Jews, but mark my words, and don’t be fooled.
The Christian Church in this country is next!
You can take that to the bank, as they say.
In God’s unraveling of His redemptive story for the world, His people, Israel were led to Egypt towards the end of the Patriarch Jacob’s life
Through a series of circumstances laid out in detail in the book of Genesis.
Last time we visited Israel, we found them recently arrived in Egypt, who was under the control of the Jewish
Prime Minsiter, Joseph.
And all was great for them.
The Pharoah at the time gave them the best land in the land of Goshen,
There the Bible tells us that Jacob and his small band of people flourished over time and grew to be a great multitude
They grew enough to be considered a nation of people.
But, something happened during their time there that caused great chaos and despair so bad in their lives, that God sent them a deliverer too.
This time through a man named Moses.
There is an over arching lesson teaching us something here,
Brothers and sisters, there will be times in your lives where great Chaos and despair creeps in if not barges in like Germany, but fear not,
For God has sent You and I a deliverer.
And His name is Jesus. Amen!
- Jesus is our Deliverer
- Jesus is our Deliverer
John 16:33 (CSB)
33 I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.”
and Amen for that!
There is nothing this world can do to you, that Jesus hasn’t already handled.
You, the Christian, are in good hands!
However, You and I Christian, will have times of suffering, and if you are going through something right now,
I want you to know, God keeps His promises, and has already sent you a deliverer.
His name is Jesus!
Let’s examine an example of God keeping His promises,
Scripture tells us that the cause of Israels suffering was foretold by God way back in

Genesis 15:13–14 (CSB)
13 Then the Lord said to Abram, “Know this for certain: Your offspring will be resident aliens for four hundred years in a land that does not belong to them and will be enslaved and oppressed. 14 However, I will judge the nation they serve, and afterward they will go out with many possessions.
Did you notice, God added, that He will judge that nation and afterward leave there with many possessions?
To you and I, in today’s HBO, Youtube, and Facebook speak, that means, you ain’t leaving without some Egyptian Bling-Bling!
And that is exactly what happened, and it started after the death of Joseph.
As I said, all was going great for Israel in Egypt that they flourished and multiplied in the land, but then, things changed, after Joseph died.
Exodus 1:6–11 (CSB)
6 Joseph and all his brothers and all that generation eventually died. 7 But the Israelites were fruitful, increased rapidly, multiplied, and became extremely numerous so that the land was filled with them.
8 A new king, who did not know about Joseph, came to power in Egypt. 9 He said to his people, “Look, the Israelite people are more numerous and powerful than we are. 10 Come, let’s deal shrewdly with them; otherwise they will multiply further, and when war breaks out, they will join our enemies, fight against us, and leave the country.” 11 So the Egyptians assigned taskmasters over the Israelites to oppress them with forced labor. They built Pithom and Rameses as supply cities for Pharaoh.
They were enslaved just as God told Abraham they would be.
This slavery would last about 400 years, until the birth of Moses.
In God’s unraveling of His redemptive plan, we see a common thread.
The devil is always trying to thwart God’s redemptive plan of somehow corrupting or obstructing the woman’s seed
Trying to prevent the coming of the one who will eventually crush his head.
- Failed Attempts to Thwart God’s Plan
- Failed Attempts to Thwart God’s Plan
Genesis 3:15 (CSB)
15 I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.
So what does he do in this case?
He puts God’s people, who were separated from the world around them a the time by calling Abraham out from among his people and country.
Abraham then produced Isaac then and then Jacob, who then produced the people who followed Jacob into Egypt, while his son Joseph was prime minister.
Remember?
These are God’s chosen people now, from whom will come the one who deals this fatal blow to the devil once and for all.
The devil knows this, so he devises a scheme using his influence over the Pharoah to put God’s people in chains and bondage.
Not only are they are, slaves to Egypt until God sets them free, through this deliverer, but the devil goes even further by killing the male children by throwing them into the Nile.
Exodus 1:22 (CSB)
22 Pharaoh then commanded all his people, “You must throw every son born to the Hebrews into the Nile, but let every daughter live.”
Brothers and sisters, although we are learning about Israel’s history in the past.
God is not done with freeing slaves in bondage.
To you and I, Egypt is the world, and Sin is the Pharoah.
You and I were also once held slaves to sin in this world, not for 400 years, but maybe, 10, 20, 30 years or even the majority of our lives,
but, I want you to know, God has already set us free, through the blood of His son Jesus, our deliverer and redeemer!
That is quite miraculous wouldn’t you say?
Well, the scriptures tell us that it was by miraculous means that God saved his people from the bondage of Egypt,
Thank God, that not everyone obeyed the Pharaoh’s command.
Talking about Moses’ mother we read in
Exodus 2:3 (CSB)
3 But when she could no longer hide him, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with asphalt and pitch. She placed the child in it and set it among the reeds by the bank of the Nile.
Pharoah’ daughter plucks him from the river and gives him the name Moses = “he who is drawn [from water].”
(Amy L. Balogh, “Moses,” ed. John D. Barry et al., The Lexham Bible Dictionary (Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press, 2016).)
She then raised him in Pharaoh’s house
But somewhere during his life, he turns his back on Egypt and embraces his national heritage, and kills an Egyptian who was striking a Hebrew.
Rightfully fearing that Pharoah would have his neck for this, he flees into the wilderness for forty years, settling in a place called Midian
While there in Midian, he gets married and has a couple of sons with his past behind him, or so he thinks.
Until one day, he hears his name called out from a strange sight, a Burning Bush
- The Call From a Burning Bush
- The Call From a Burning Bush
Exodus 3:1–4 (CSB)
1 Meanwhile, Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. 2 Then the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire within a bush. As Moses looked, he saw that the bush was on fire but was not consumed. 3 So Moses thought, “I must go over and look at this remarkable sight. Why isn’t the bush burning up?”
4 When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called out to him from the bush, “Moses, Moses!”
“Here I am,” he answered.
One of the things that I believe are being overlooked, especially here in the western hemisphere, is reverence for Holiness of God.
The very next verse, details the next direct statement God Himself says to Moses, before the common introduction.
“Hello, guess what? I am God,”
or, again in Today’s speak, “Sup dude? Don’t trip, I’m God.”
No, we don’t get any of that but what we do get is this command.
- The Holiness of God
- The Holiness of God
Exodus 3:5 (CSB)
5 “Do not come closer,” he said. “Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”
God is saying, before we go any further, you will recognize, I am God, and you WILL respect Me!
I’m always mesmerized that many today don’t respect God’s Holiness.
Many so called Modern Churches today have lost sight of that fact
God is Holy and deserves to be respected.
Especially, but not limited too, those of us who are blessed to be called by Him to stand in these pulpits and speak to you all about the things of God,
Shame on those who have lost that sense of reverence for the things of God.
Showing up to preach in jeans and t-shirts, or sweat shirts, shorts and flip flops.
Trying their best to blend in with society,
They have forgotten, “WE HAVE BEEN CALLED OUT FROM AMONG THEM TO BE SEPARATE.
They being influenced by the pressure of the world rather than putting pressure on the world to be influenced by God.
From this calling of Moses we learn that Moses didn’t want the job, he knew he wasn’t up to the challenge,
But God sent him anyway, because God was with him.
And to The most powerful man on earth at the time, Moses went, this deliverer, in their time of Chaos and great despair
and gave His own famous speech, saying “Let My People Go!”
that speech sparks the onset of some of the most dramatic and detailed miracles the Bible records.
Brothers and sisters Christian, I want to remind you right here and now, of the biggest miracle you’ll ever see in your life time.
You have been freed from the bondage of your oppression through the blood of Jesus.
because of that, you too are called to go into the world and proclaim to the captives,
They have the power through the blood of Christ, to be set free from their bondage to sin.
