2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV
7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Romans 4:20–22 NKJV
20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22 And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
Luke 1:37 NKJV
37 For with God nothing will be impossible.”
Hebrews 11:1 NKJV
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Faith is given to us to believe in times when nothing else makes sense:

1. As a people are we called to trust God with some things in our lives or all things in our lives?

That’s right all things!

We also need to trust God for our daily needs.

Matthew 6:25–34 NKJV
25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

what does the bible say our first priority is? the kingdom of God!

We can seek a lot of things however, if we seek first the Kingdom we will find all we need.

Matthew 6:33 NKJV
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

there are many ways God provides but today we are going to look at the principles found in 2 Kings 4:1-7.

2 Kings 4:1–7 NKJV
1 A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.” 2 So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.” 3 Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. 4 And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.” 5 So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. 6 Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased. 7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”

2. The first thing we do is seek the Lord.

2 Kings 4:1 NKJV
1 A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.”
See what the widow did?
she went to the man of God and told him her problem. there are many people who want to apply the principles of faith with out the God of that faith.
the first thing we do in any situation is ask for God’s wisdom.
James 1:5 NKJV
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
where do we find wisdom?
in the word of God!
where do we find his will? in the word of God!
we also need to seek Godly counsel!
that doesn't mean go looking for the answer i want. look for the answer i need.

2. The prophet asked her to take inventory. He asked what she had?

2 Kings 4:2 NKJV
2 So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”
sometimes, we need the Lord to guide us in what we have. ‘
the curse of being familiar, is sometimes we under value what we already have.
let the Lord guide you in these times.

2. He gave her an a couple of action steps.

2 Kings 4:3–6 NKJV
3 Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few.
James 2:20 NKJV
20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?
James 2:18 NKJV
18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

3. Faith’s key is obedience.

2 Kings 4:6–7 NKJV
6 Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased. 7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”
Isaiah 1:19 NKJV
19 If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;
