John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance,
Introduction:
Have you ever said what you wouldn’t do? And Ended up doing it.
Had pure intentions on doing good and asked God how did I get here
Gotten so tired of trying to get it right that you ended up giving up - what the point?
Maybe this holy thing is impossible.
Romans tells us that In your flesh dwells no good thing.
To subdue the earth means to tend and care for the earth, keeping the weeds and wild animals at bay, and working at keeping the land productive.
There are some days that going to be harder than others, but at the end of the day there will always be a struggle between the flesh and the spirit.
1 Corinthians 9:27 (ESV)
Paul says “ I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway’
JESUS - Matthew chapter 4
He’s driven up into the wilderness and tempted of the devil
He quotes - Deuteronomy 8:3 in reply, “It is written, 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God'"
PAUL SAYS Romans 7 - For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
We all have been there. We must bring the flesh under subjection.
Gods word is the only way to combat the enemy. Whenever we see Jesus addressed the adversary, he did so by quoting scripture.
Hebrews 12:14 (ESV)
14 Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
Strive for peace - HARMONIOUS RELATIONSHIP, ESPECIALLY REGARDING THE ABESNCE OF WAR OR CONTENTION
* Pursue (DEE-O-KO) to Follow after, Go after or ensue.
*if you want more of God, he will reveal
James said 1:If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance,
*This combines the horizontal (peace with everyone) and vertical (holiness) sides of the Christian life. Both aspects must be constant goals we strive to attain.
* Following the flesh we can become okay or be at peace in our mess.
1. I know what the word says but he knows my heart.
2. I do everything God ask but, this is what I can’t do.
3. I haven’t gotten over what happened the last time.
I cant seek revenge and strive for peace.
I can’t talk about you being your back and strive for peace
Even if you’ve wronged me….
Romans 12:19
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
Taking matters into your own hands will never work. In fact, its quite dangers.
1. It’s a dangerous thing to assume the position of God.
What do you mean? Whenever you step into that which is reserved for God, you are not attempting to operate in a position whereas you have no authority.
God didn’t say get even, he says venege is mine.
Luke 6: 35
35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.
36 Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.

Peace is a derivative of love, or a component of it. In other words you can’t have have one without the other.
Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
And Holiness…
1 These 4:7
For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
Adam -
A. If god did not call me into uncleanness
Creation - the act or bringing something into existence
Psalm 51 Create in me a clean heart oh God and renew
Psalms 51
We read the report of David’s adultery with Bathsheba, of the murder of Uriah, and of Nathan’s confrontation in II Samuel
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
V1 David appeals to God’s lovingkindness, compassion, and grace - but also an acknowledgment that punishment is deserved,
Whenever God creates a thing he bring it (INTO existence)
Consecration - synonymous with sanctification
Dedication - renewed and committed
The spiritual heart transplant described in v.26 also speaks of a total spiritual renewal.
Ezekiel 36:26
A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
promises here is the opposite of what He did when Israel was in Egypt and Pharaoh hardened his heart refusing to let God’s people go.
Rebate mind - give you over to
Israel’s problem had been that the requirements of the law were external.
Your dead spirit is brought to life in the same way as the body of Christ was raised from the dead.
The image of God in us will respond to God in whose image we are made and wanting to do the will of our Creator and Savior will be the most natural thing for us. That is what living in the Promised Land is all abou
Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this
Create in me a clean heart
