Look Around
Good Evening Everyone.
I’m so pleased to see you all here tonight. Willing to set aside normal routines and rhythms and seek the Lord together.
In the New Testament there are 100 references to “one another”, and 59 of those are direct commands teaching us how to relate to one another.
Well this evening, I want to call our attention to 2 in particular.
Galatians 6:2 “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
James 5:16 “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.”
One of the beautiful things about the church, is that we’re not alone in this life.
There are no lone ranger Christians, we have been gifted brothers and sisters, or mothers and fathers of the faith that can help us bear the load of life.
And I know that many of you are burdened, so in just a minute we are going to break into small groups for that purpose. To share with one another the things that are burdening us.
And after someone shares, we are to pray for one another.
If there is sin to confess, as you share your burden. Do that.
But as you listen to one another’s burdens, the best way for you to bear it is to go together to The throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
So that’s what we’re going to do. Break into groups of 3-5, share your anxieties and burdens with one another but be sure somebody prays after each time of sharing.
And if you know that you tend to share long, maybe let others go first so that we can ensure everybody has enough time!
