Humble Circumstances

James 1:9–10 NASB95
But the brother of humble circumstances is to glory in his high position; and the rich man is to glory in his humiliation, because like flowering grass he will pass away.
One might read this verse and ask.
Is a poor believer better than a wealthy believer?
or is it wrong to be a wealthy follower of Christ?
But this verse isn’t saying wither of those things.
The word for brother refers to a relationship within the family of God. (A believer) The same is not implied for the rich man. This is an unbeliever.
The verse is saying that a believer who may have little has a much greater identity then poor. His high position that the verse is referring to is in Christ! James contrasts this with a man who has
