Harvest Wars ‘09: Harvest Time

Scripture Text: Matthew 13:24-30, 37-43

Theme: If you believe Christ you will be gathered to Him, if not you will be removed from Him to judgment.

Introduction: Around this time of year farmers of both ancient and modern times gather their crops which they planted earlier in the year.

Frame of Reference

The Sower of Good Seed

Jesus Christ, the Son of Man

Sowed the good seed

Children of the Kingdom

Those whose right is the Kingdom

The Field-the world

The Enemy

The devil, or satan

Sowed the tares, or weeds

Children of the wicked one

Those who act like the wicked one

The Harvest-the end of the world

The Reapers-the angels

As a farmer harvests his wheat and burns the weeds, so will Christ gather His Followers and judge the wicked.

If you reject Christ, you have nothing but torture for your eternity.

If you receive Christ, you dwell with those who received Him before in the Kingdom of God.

How does one receive?

Hear

Repent of sin

Believe Christ
