A Pre-Flight Check List
A Pre-Flight Check List
Text;
Hebrews 11:13-16
13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
Here in the 11th chapter of Hebrews is what preacher’s call
The Hall of faith!
Text says these all died in the Faith ;
Able killed by cain
Enoch walked with god and was not for God took him! raptured by God
Noah saved by
Abraham, Isaac, Jacob who were all heirs of the same promise
Also Sarah all these died in the faith, not having received the promises
All of us who have seen Gods promises a far off are headed the same direction whether you go by death as Able did
Or by rapture as Enoch Did!
Or as By our salvation thru earthly provision from a Pandemic, Sickness, or Disease as Noah was (healing, protection or provision)
Vrs.13-
A) but having seen them afar off, spiritual site not earthly site!
B) and were persuaded of them, Believed, convinced,
C) and embraced them, Walked according to the promises
Walking came first then confessing they were strangers
D) and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth
My question and the thrust of this message is are You living every day and preparing for for the rapture of the church? OR
Are you so consumed and weighed down with earthly things that are keeping you from being ready!
What is hindering you?
What is weighing you down?
What has you chained to earthly things?
I want to talk about a Pre-flight check list!
Every pilot knows he is to complete a pre-flight check list before he can take off!
What are these pre flight check procedures?
Check the engine oil, (No oil can’t get off the ground)
ignition wires, (No fire engine won’t even run) (Plane is powerless)
magneto electrical connections and the fuel lines.
Move the propeller and make sure to identify any leaks,
missing bolts or cracks in the propeller blades.
Check Under the aircraft, check for leaks ,check the cowling and
check fuel tanks are full! (Don’t want to run out of gas at 30,000 feet)
Fuel caps on tight and locked.
All instrument panels are reading properly
Why is the pre flight checklist important?
Its purpose is to provide safety by ensuring that no important tasks are forgotten. But not all pilots adhere to these checks and missing just one pre-flight check could have deadly results!
Today that is why we are going to go over a pre-flight check list for Christians.
So that we are all ready for our heavenly flight!
Hebrews 12:1-3
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Now we all know we must get rid of the sin in our life!
And we do that thru the grace of God and pursuit of gods righteousness in our lives!
But notice this scripture doesn’t just say sin.
But it says also every weight that so easily beset us!
One of the most important things a pilot should check pre-flight is the capacity of the plane to lift and maintain the weight of it’s load.
What is the load?
As Christians some of us carry loads far exceeding what the lord would wants us to carry. Some of these loads and weights can keep us so tied to this earth and it makes it impossible for the holy ghost to lift us even 3 “ off the ground! And we feel it! it weighs us down!
The extra weight keeps us from moving and having our life in the Holy Ghost! Weighed down we become stuck in the situation. the devil would like to load more and more on us until;
We don’t know how to free our selves!
So we just continue to carry it as best we can!
1 Pet.2 :1
2 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings
All Malice- : 1)desire to cause pain, injury, or distress to another.
2) Intent to commit an unlawful act or cause harm without legal justification or excuse. Get even!
All Guile- 1) deceitful, cunning, two faced, a war that calls for guile rather than firepower. 2). strata-gee, and trickery.
Hypocrisies- is failing to practice what you preach
These all hinder us from being able to get off the ground, to rise above our circumstances!
Luke 13:14-17
14 And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.
15 The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?
16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
17 And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
Hypocrisy weighs you down with shame!
Matt. 23:1-4
1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat:
3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne,
and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers
Luke 12:54-56
54 And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.
55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.
56 Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?
Eph. 4:29-32
29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
Stop! before you speak!
Is it the word of god? Does it build up or tear down?
Will it minister grace to the hearers?
30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Isaiah 63:9-10
9 In all their affliction he was afflicted,
And the angel of his presence saved them:
In his love and in his pity he redeemed them;
And he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.
10 But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit:
Therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.
Eph.4:31-32
31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
Bitterness- feeling of resentment, taste of bitterness on the passover
(remembering the bitterness of slavery,
anger and ill will caused by a wrong ,symbolic of affliction,
Wrath- arises out of bitterness and a want to get even!
Anger-Emotion and can be an action rising out of a wrong whether real or just perceived
Clamor- a loud and persistent out cry from the crowd
Evil speaking- Action, intentions, or forces
that are morally or spiritually corrupt, wicked, or harmful,
and are in opposition to principles of goodness and righteousness of God!
Evil- refers to the presence or manifestation of moral or spiritual corruption, and wickedness in opposition to Gods will
Let it all be put away from you!
Eph.4:32
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
Eph. 5:1-2
1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
