TO GAZE UPON THE BEAUTY OF THE LORD
As I come forward at end of worship
SLIDE 1 “WELCOME”
Words of encouragement from worship
Communion Today
When I mention King David what immediately come to mind?
Being a man after God’s heart came hand in hand as with we see or experience through the Psalms
We read about David’s life in 1 & 2 Samuel.......1 Kings and 1 Chronicles
But his walk with God......his intimacy with God......his Spiritual strength and character we see built in the Psalms
Now for us as we come together as church family......we see the repetitive layout every Sunday
Think of every church over this whole nation.....the whole world
I believe this is the experience God wants us to have with Him as we come together
SLIDE 2 “TO GAZE UPON THE BEAUTY OF THE LORD”
Amazingly enough this all started to fall into place Wednesday at worship night
It hit me as the Lord revealed that everything I need for my break through.....explain....a revelation (a word) from Him .....If I could say turbo mode..... it would come in experiencing or gazing upon the beauty of the Lord
Now you know my heart is to always have that backed up with God’s word......or that what we find is Scripturally correct
Would that be important to you.....or is okay with something Glenn came up with or man came up with?
So after Wednesday night in that experience of gazing upon the beauty of the Lord.......I set into studying and was blown away
I believe the Lord is going to encourage and grow your worship experience after today’s message
Question......now you really have to go deep in this one.....don’t fluff this one or snow flake it okay?.....if you had experienced the presence of God.......do you think it would cause a reaction from man?
Another Question.....what would you say David experienced most in his life?..........he hung out with sheep and played the harp and sang songs out in the pasture....super simple right?
King Saul tried to pin David to the wall with his spear.....he was hunted by Saul most of Saul’s days as king......David was had to bring 100 foreskins from the Philistines just to marry Saul's daughter Michal.........................going on
Anyone here have these experiences?
But this is what He asked of God...
SLIDE 3
4 One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord
And to meditate in His temple.
SLIDE 4
5 For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle;
In the secret place of His tent He will hide me;
He will lift me up on a rock.
6 And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me,
And I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.
Here are some examples or themes of what David was singing to God for

SLIDE 6 “TO GAZE UPON THE BEAUTY OF THE LORD”
These were real life experiences of David that we can identify with
David asked God and seeked God to dwell in His presence and inquire in His temple
That was David’s cycle that always brought him through in victory
SLIDE 7
PSALM
Melody or Spiritual Song (pneumatikaí) - breath / spirit
focus on expressing the author's emotions and relationship with God
Do we have biblical insight for the church to continue these days?
This is really quit amazing as the Lord wants us to have every opportunity to get insight and encouragement from Him.....check this out.....pay close attention for your walk here
SLIDE 8
15 Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise,
16 making the most of your time, because the days are evil.
17 So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
This so describes the times if you are a believer here or listening today
SLIDE 9
18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,
19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord;
20 always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;
This is like when everything seems to be surrounding us with stress or worries.......what sometime is our go to.....a substance or pill.....the Lord tells us what we need here
SLIDE 10
16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
The world or the unsaved do not have this benefit.......we do not have to pay a monthly subscription for this....its free
SLIDE 11 “TO GAZE UPON THE BEAUTY OF THE LORD”
The Lord says to just come....and ask…and seek.... and dwell....and gaze upon the Lord and inquire of Him in His temple
Sundays worship or “Wednesday night of worship” should be thought of like this........I’ve got these things going on......all this stress......these fears.......these worries.....this situation......here is my one chance coming up and I need to get into the Lord’s presence....inquire of Him and let Him gets this fixed!!
How many other people in the Bible do we know of worshipped like king David? Did they have life’s troubles also? But who was known as a man after God’s heart?
Who’s thrown was succeeded forever by our Lord Jesus
There are 3 points we see that we have in Praise to God.....like the example of the Psalms.......the 3 P’s
SLIDE 12
GAZING UPON GOD’S BEAUTY AND PRESENCE
1) God Re-establishes Our Position
When Christ came to earth, He exercised the dominion that Adam lost. Christ ruled over the fish (Luke 5:1–6; Matt. 17:24–27; John 21:1–6), over the fowl (Luke 22:34), and over the beasts (Mark 1:13; 11:1–7). No one on earth today could control nature the way He did. When Jesus came to earth, it was God “visiting” men (Ps. 8:4 with Luke 1:68, 78).
by humbling Himself and becoming a servant and dying on the cross, Jesus glorified God and purchased the salvation of a lost people and a lost world.
In Genesis what did God put Adam in charge of?
SLIDE 13
5 For He did not subject to angels the world to come, concerning which we are speaking.
6 But one has testified somewhere, saying,
“What is man, that You remember him?
Or the son of man, that You are concerned about him?
Guess who this one was that testified saying this?....David Psalm 8
He goes on
SLIDE 14
7 “You have made him for a little while lower than the angels;
You have crowned him with glory and honor,
And have appointed him over the works of Your hands;
8 You have put all things in subjection under his feet.”
For in subjecting all things to him, He left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him.
The author of Hebrews goes on in next verses....”but we do see Him”
SLIDE 15
GAZING UPON GOD’S BEAUTY AND PRESENCE
1) God Re-establishes Our Position
2) God Gives Us Strength and Power
Christ has given us dominion; this means that we reign as kings. We can reign in life through Christ (Rom. 5:17), getting victory over sin and temptation. We reign in death (1 Cor. 15:54–57), for death no more has dominion over us. We shall reign in His kingdom here on earth, our place of service to be determined according to our life and faithfulness here today (Matt. 25:14–30; Luke 19:12–27). Finally, we shall reign with Him forever and ever.
SLIDE 16
17 For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
SLIDE 17
GAZING UPON GOD’S BEAUTY AND PRESENCE
1) God Re-establishes Our Position
2) God Gives Us Strength and Power
3) God Gives Us Promise
The psalms makes it clear that God is concerned with creation, and the interpretation in Heb. 2:6–9 indicates that Christ will one day deliver creation from the bondage of sin. See Rom. 8:18–24. This will include the “redemption of our body” (Rom. 8:23) when we shall see Christ and become like Him (1 John 3:1–3; Phil. 3:20–21). The fact that Jesus Christ is today on the throne is proof that one day all creation will be redeemed. What a glorious promise!
SLIDE 18
1 See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.
3 And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
