Jochebed, the mother of Moses was taking a great risk in what she was doing.
She was directly defying an order of Pharaoh.
The Hebrews kept multiplying to the point that it scared Pharaoh, so he had ordered all male Hebrew babies to be killed
Defiance of this would likely have meant the death sentence had she been caught.
In retrospect, we see a mother who was willing to sacrifice her own life, for the sake of her child.
This mother’s love is a beautiful picture of Biblical love.

A mother’s love is a reflection of the love of Jesus.

John 15:13
John 15:13 NKJV
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
The love of a mother is, perhaps, the closest example of Christ-like love that can be found on this earth.

Jesus Christ is the essence of love.

1 John 4:16
1 John 4:16 NKJV
And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
It is said that the most quoted verse in all the Bible is the passage in John 3:16
What a testimony to the love God has for us.

We wouldn't know what love was if it weren't for God.

1 John 4:19
1 John 4:19 NKJV
We love Him because He first loved us.
It was this great love of God by which Christ sacrificed himself for the undeserving and ungrateful.
Romans 5:8
Romans 5:8 NKJV
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Human love is usually reciprocal. That is, we love if and when we are loved in return, but the love of a mother is different, it's more like the love of Christ.
There are few mothers who would not lay down their life for their child, even when their child doesn't deserve it.

There is little that could separate a child from the love of its mother. It is second only to the love of Christ.

Romans 8:35-39
Romans 8:35–39 NKJV
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
As mentioned, Jochebed is an example of such love.
That same type of motherly love continues today, and it continues to parallel the love of Christ.
It is the love of a mother that diligently tends to the scrapes, bumps, bruises and illnesses of her child.

Like Christ, a Godly mother continues to love while battling her own pains and illnesses.

Isaiah 53:5
Isaiah 53:5 NKJV
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
It is the love of a mother that comforts her child through difficult times, often while battling difficulties of her own.

Like Christ, a Godly mother helps her children through difficult times.

Psalm 34:18
Psalm 34:18 NKJV
The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
Psalm 147:3
Psalm 147:3 NKJV
He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.
In these things, a mother is second only to Christ.
What a huge job a mother has.
They they nourish children
they teach children
they protect their children
they tend to their injuries and treat their illnesses
they comfort their pain
And they do it all very selflessly.
They do everything they can to prepare a good path for their children. In short, they attempt to meet every need a child may have, much like a shepherd does for his flock.
When we see a godly mother, we should be reminded of Christ, the good shepherd.
His love and care is reflected in Godly mothers, but matched by none.

Jesus sacrificed more then anyone ever has. He temporarily gave up His spot in the throne for the sake of his children.

Philippians 2:5-7
Philippians 2:5–7 NKJV
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.

He became sin for the sake of sinners.

2 Corinthians 5:21
2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

He gave his own life for the sake of his disobedient children.

Philippians 2:8
Philippians 2:8 NKJV
And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
Romans 5:8
Romans 5:8 NKJV
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
By His stripes we are healed, and he mends the broken hearted. He suffered immense pain for our well being.

Jesus continually works on our behalf.

Romans 8:34
Romans 8:34 NKJV
Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
Hebrews 7:25
Hebrews 7:25 NKJV
Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

The amazing love of God will not manifest itself unless you place your faith in Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Romans 10:9
Romans 10:9 NKJV
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
John 3:18
John 3:18 NKJV
“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
In short, you must trust Him to be your Shepherd, then you will be adopted into His family.
Thank mothers for providing a glimpse of Gods love.

A Godly mother is truly blessed.

Proverbs 31:28
Proverbs 31:28 NKJV
Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her:
