Introduction

Today, we are allowed to see through the lens of Wisdom the heart of a true mother.
After Solidifying his kingdom, Solomon worships God and God gives Solomon a blank check to ask whatever he wanted. Solomon asks God for a listening heart.
1 Kings 3:9 LEB
9 Give to your servant a listening heart to judge your people, to discern between good and bad, because who is able to judge this, your difficult people?”
Solomon asks the Lord for a listening heart in order to properly judge the people under his reign. Not only did God honor this request, but gave him riches and honor as well.
In our text today, We will see God revealing to us through Solomon, the heart of a true mother. Though the story is a bit salacious, we can learn so much in a world thats complex, selfish, and how we can guard our hearts and learn
———————————————-
The two prostitutes/hookers that are introduced in the narrative are women who work in the red light district on Baltimore St. This profession is viewed as derogatory and disrespectful.
Leviticus 19:29 ESV
29 “Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, lest the land fall into prostitution and the land become full of depravity.
From verse 16- 22, We see these 2 Hookers bringing their drama before the King. This amazes me. How can these women who got no husband, use their body for money stand before the king of Israel? On a social level, they were outcasts. Parents may have sold them into he profession, possibly living in a brothel , we can see that only wisdom from God can bring us through.
Though your past may be filled with drama, the King can still can deal with your dilemma’s.
When we all came to Jesus, we came just like these women.
We came with our Jerry Springer, Dr. Phil, Wendy Williams, Steve Wilkos Maury Povich, lifestyles, rolling in our past packed in a hefty garbage bag before the King of Kings…
How can we get to the root of your purpose if you still won’t release your mama baby hooker drama.
Your life may be tore up in some areas, but if we need to learn to give it to King Jesus….
King Solomon will be dealing with these women not based on their past, but on the authenticity of Which one of them is the true mother.
(Read clearly, but briskly)
The two women bore sons just three days apart, but there were no witnesses present during the births.
During the night one woman’s son died because she carelessly rolled over on him (v. 19).
Perhaps she had been in a drunken stupor. Whatever the case, this careless woman awoke during the night, quietly got up, and switched sons while the other woman slept (v. 20).
————————————————————————————-
When the other woman arose the next morning to nurse her son, she discovered he was dead.
But when she closely observed him, she noticed that he was not the son she had borne (v. 21).
Point 1-Every Mother knows her child. v21
She carries the child in her womb for nine months, experiencing the physical changes and forming a deep bond during pregnancy.
Whether good bad, or indifferent: How they act, What they do or think they will do.
They know when your trying to be slick, cool or just a plain fool.
When we act like someone else's child, you can become unrecognizable to your mama. I’ve heard some mama’s say, “ Whose child are you? You are not my child” when your disrespectful, cussing out your mouth, no respect for authority, trying to be gagsters instead of students.
God knows Children!
Psalm 1:6 ESV
6 for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
2 Timothy 2:19 ESV
19 But God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.”
If you are no the Lord’s Child, you will hear this:
Matthew 7:23 ESV
23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
Whose child are you? it does not matter what drama is from your past, but you need to know who Jesus is:
John 17:3 ESV
3 And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
John 20:31 ESV
31 but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
1 John 5:13 ESV
13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.
It’s mothers day, and you need to know if your God’s Child or not.

Point 2- True Mama Love reflects God’s Love v24-27
How do you deal with Mama/ Hooker Baby Drama?
The King in v23 has a serious issue here. No witnesses, and a bunch of he say she say as he discusses this situation before his swordsmen or advisors.
Then….
He asks his swordsmen to bring him a sword v24-25. The king gave the word to divide the baby in two!
1 Kings 3:26
NASB95Then the woman whose child was the living one spoke to the king, for she was deeply stirred over her son and said, “Oh, my lord, give her the living child, and by no means kill him.” But the other said, “He shall be neither mine nor yours; divide him!”
ESVThen the woman whose son was alive said to the king, because her heart yearned for her son, “Oh, my lord, give her the living child, and by no means put him to death.” But the other said, “He shall be neither mine nor yours; divide him.”
KJV 1900Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it.
NIVThe woman whose son was alive was deeply moved out of love for her son and said to the king, “Please, my lord, give her the living baby! Don’t kill him!” But the other said, “Neither I nor you shall have him. Cut him in two!”
NKJVThen the woman whose son was living spoke to the king, for she yearned with compassion for her son; and she said, “O my lord, give her the living child, and by no means kill him!” But the other said, “Let him be neither mine nor yours, but divide him.”
RSVThen the woman whose son was alive said to the king, because her heart yearned for her son, “Oh, my lord, give her the living child, and by no means slay it.” But the other said, “It shall be neither mine nor yours; divide it.”
“Sever the live baby … and give …”: address in the second person pl. implies that several men would be involved in actually cutting the baby in two and handing the parts to the two women.
“Her maternal instincts were stirred”: the verb כמר, “grow hot,” “get excited,”the primary meaning of רחם is “womb” and the pl. means “maternal compassion.”
That word Rehem in its root which means Womb is used in a plural sense to maternal compassion.
Genesis 43:30 ESV
30 Then Joseph hurried out, for his compassion grew warm for his brother, and he sought a place to weep. And he entered his chamber and wept there.
Hosea 11:8 ESV
8 How can I give you up, O Ephraim? How can I hand you over, O Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I treat you like Zeboiim? My heart recoils within me; my compassion grows warm and tender.
Thats why if no one else will scream out for that baby, (Love Will) mama will! any threat to that child will cause the womb of that mother to respond.
Preach: Love will scream out to protect that child. Thats why mama’s tolerate so much crap not just with little children, but even old children. They visit them in jail, raising children they did not make. Thats why mama gets the whole store at Walmart, fill every restaurant, and consume every flower in the supermarket.
The heart of a true mother is willing to sacrifice her child so that her child could live !
Just like God!
John 3:16 ESV
16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 5:8 ESV
8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Were saved because God gave up His Son Jesus…He loved me better than any Mama he laid his life down for me way back on Calvery they hung him high and stretched him wide and pierced his side, He died on friday, but this is not how the story ends, he got up, he got up, he got up with all power!
