Here we are it’s Mother’s day and many time’s mother’s come to a mother’s day church service and when it’s time for the message, we think, ok, what do I need to do to be a better mom?

Go ahead pastor make me feel bad that I’m not doing it right, that I’m not a good mom, that someone else is doing it better than me.

Make me feel down and out and go ahead and clobber me.

Mother’s, NOT TODAY, today I want to tell you that your doing a great job and the reason I know, is that your in church on Mother’s day, so Ra,Ra to you Mother’s today.

Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV) 6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6 (NLT) 6 Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.

So today, I want to say, A Happy Mother’s day, and God your Father is so proud of you.

What I want to share with you today is that it’s not complicated to raise children right and the Bible gives us some great insight.

I believe that our job as parents is

#1, to be a parent and not a friend. They have plenty of friends, but only 1 mother.

#2. Our next job is to find there bent, who God made them to be and then steer them in that way.

Diane and I have always made our home a fun home, but a home where the children would hear devotionals on there age level, and that they can have a personal relationship with God and we are continuing to do it with our grandkids.

We made church a priority, there were no if, what’s or but’s, when it came to going to church.

Also, don’t make this life journey complicated.

We believed that God can be involved in every area of our lives and we always let the kids see that, being on vacation we would say, look at what God made, or look at that cloud, butterfly, stone etc. KISS: Keep it simple sweetie.

In everything, let them see God and especially at home.

What am I saying today on this Mother’s Day, don’t try to do everything but do this one thing. Tell them about how good God is and that He loves them and let God do the rest.
