John 10:27-30
John 10:27-30
No one can pluck us from His Hand! There is a truth here that we seem to lose when trouble comes or we may call it danger..........It is a glorious truth that solidifies the call from Christ to “Fear not.....”
John 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.”
As we were studying 1 Corinthians 7, we read a lot about marriage and divorce and how the Corinth believers were to live pleasing unto the Lord as the come out of a pagan lifestyle but found themselves still married to unbelievers. So what do they do?
1 Corinthians 7:14 “For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.”
Paul provides the answer......stay with them unless they want to leave.......there is a truth in here that we miss, that I missed..........The one that belongs to Christ is the dominating force not the unbeliever.
The power of those that are sanctified by Christ is greater, there is no contest, even the devils know this!
The sincere believer cannot be separated from the power of God through Christ Jesus!
No one can pluck them out of His Hands........and that is an overwhelming truth for us!
God tells us through Paul to not be unequally yoked and in the same chapter 7 he says that if you are single and have the liberty to remarry, according to God’s command, then only marry those that are in the Lord.
But Paul was speaking to those converted while they were married and the spouse did not convert.
Without hesitation, it seems, Paul tells them that if the unbeliever desires to stay with you let them stay!
Why? Because what God through Christ and the Holy Spirit is doing for you will be a blessing to the unbelievers!
It is not the other way around for those that truly are Christ’s sheep!
The sheep rub off on the unbeliever!
Matthew 16:13-18..........The gates of hell will not prevail against Peter’s confession!
Many other places detail this for us.......Romans 8:33-39.........
Revelation 1:18 “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”
1 Corinthians 15:55–58 “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
Colossians 1:9-23......If we continue in our belief of Who Jesus is.....a true faith, not lip service or a show, but at every moment of our lives it is with our faith in Christ....even when we fail......
We trust in Him........He has first place in everything and at every place and if that is our life......the gates of will not overcome us..........even being married to an unbeliever will not rub off on us but we will rub off on them or they will just leave!
