Step 9 RESTITUTION:
Step 9 RESTITUTION:
Romans 12:17-18. Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.
BIBLICAL STANDARD OF RESTITUTION
BIBLICAL STANDARD OF RESTITUTION
We make direct restitution, whenever possible, submitting to God, His word, and biblical counsel.
RESTITUTION OBJECTIVES
RESTITUTION OBJECTIVES
What comes to your mind when you hear the word restitution? (PAUSE)
The dictionary definition says “the restoration of something lost, or stolen to its proper owner.
Or in other words to repay someone for an injury or loss.
But did you understand the scripture that we just read?
Never (ever) pay back evil with more evil.
As much as possible, live at peace with everyone. (NIV)
But I will also add we will not be able to live at peace with the entire world.
Do things where everyone can see what you’re doing as honorable.
So please do not believe that you have a biblical mandate that you must live at peace with Everyone.
There are simply too many foolish people out there, that we do not need to associate ourselves with, and bring down our restoration and restitution plans.
Can you imagine what people's recovery would look like, if all they did was try to live at peace with everyone? Can you say denial?
When we do follow the biblical principle, we do understand that the Bible tells us to deal with a contentious person twice and no more.
There’s also another scripture that we need to live out as well!
To give you context, I want you to look at Titus chapter 3: 8-11.
This is a trustworthy saying, and I want you to insist on these teachings so that all who trust in God will devote themselves to doing good. These teachings are good and beneficial for everyone. Do not get involved in foolish discussions about spiritual pedigrees, or in the quarrels and fights about obedience to Jewish laws. These things are useless and a waste of time. If people are causing divisions among you, give a first and second warning. After that, have nothing more to do with them. for people like that, have turned away from the truth, and their own sins condemn them.
That my family is 2 strikes and you're out.
Not the typical 3! If you know what I mean?
Now, getting back to restitution and how it works in our lives.
When we live out the biblical principle of restitution, and how it can make a tremendous difference in our lives, by simply being obedient to the lesson of forgiveness.
The Bible tells us to make things right with the person that we have offended.
That is restitution.
We may not like it at the time, but in time, knowing that we have been obedient to God, and His word. That also gives us peace of mind which the world cannot take away.
The world didnt give us peace, so it sure cant take it away!

VERIFICATION OF RESTITUTION
VERIFICATION OF RESTITUTION
When you have God‘s peace in your life, and knowing that you have done everything in your power to make restitution, for your mistakes.
Then you have God‘s perfect peace, that passes all understanding..
That is what I call A verification of restitution in your life.
