1 Timothy 2:1-4; I Am A Praying Church Member

Sermon in a sentence: I will pray for my pastors and deacons.

Prayer Must Be Primary (vs. 1)

Paul teaches us that prayer is the starting point of faithful service.
Prayer is often seen as a burden not a blessing.
Believer’s Bible Commentary A. Regarding Prayer (2:1–7)

Prayer for all men is both a privilege and an obligation. It is a sheer privilege for us to have audience with God in behalf of our fellow men. And it is an obligation, too, for we are debtors to all with reference to the good news of salvation.

God has given us different ways to pray to Him .
We do not have to go through another mediator. (vs. 5-6)
We want to be careful to only use one prayer.

Prayer Is Powerful (vs. 2-4)

God uses our prayers for our good.
God uses our prayers for the salvation of his people.
Fourth Pledge:

I will pray for my pastor every day. I understand that the pastor’s work is never ending. His days are filled with numerous demands that bring emotional highs and lows. He must deal with critics. He must be a good husband and father. Because my pastor cannot do all things in his own power, I will pray for his strength and wisdom daily.
