The Theme of motherhood is not scarcely found in scripture. And if it is important to God it is important to us. Motherhood has always been a part of God’s plan, as Jesus also died to save mothers. It was at the cross as he was taking his last breath that Jesus called out to his mother saying “woman behold your son.” He understood the important cultural significance if a son present in the absence or death of a Father, he did not want his mother to became a ward of the state. It is in part for this reason but also the command to “honor our mother’s” that we take the time to do so today.
