Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”
Psalm 139:13–14 “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”
“The biological line of existence of each individual, without exception begins precisely when fertilization of the egg is successful.” — THE FACTS AND DOUBTS ABOUT BEGINNING OF THE HUMAN LIFE AND PERSONALITY (Asim Kurjak and Ana Tripalo)- National Institutes of Health Website

You Shall Not Murder

Scripture gives equal rights and protections to the unborn.
Genesis 9:5–6 “And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man. “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image.”
Exodus 20:13 ““You shall not murder.”
See Exodus 21:22–25...
Isaiah 49:15 ““Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.”
English (Lightfoot): 2:2 thou shalt not murder a child by abortion nor kill them when born (Didache)

Maintaining the Rights of the Weakest Among Us

We are called to judge rightly and defend the rights of the poor and weak among us.
See Psalm 82:1-8...
Proverbs 17:15 “He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous are both alike an abomination to the Lord.”
Proverbs 31:9 “Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.”
Proverbs 24:11 “Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.”
Failure to do that can result in the Lord judging us and not hearing our prayers.
See Isaiah 1:9-20...
We must warn the wicked so that there is no blood on our hands.
Ezekiel 33:7–9 ““So you, son of man, I have made a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me. If I say to the wicked, O wicked one, you shall surely die, and you do not speak to warn the wicked to turn from his way, that wicked person shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. But if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, that person shall die in his iniquity, but you will have delivered your soul.”
Acts 20:26–27 “Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all, for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.”

Forgiveness in Christ

Though the wages of sin is death, there is forgiveness in Christ.
1 John 3:15 “Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.”
Revelation 21:8 “But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.””
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Luke 5:31–32 “And Jesus answered them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.””
“I find it very convenient to come every day to Christ as a sinner – as I came at first. “You are no saint” says the devil. Well, if I am not, I am a sinner, and Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. Sink or swim, there I go – other hope I have none.” — Spurgeon
