Hannah 1 Samuel 1:21 Every year Elkanah went with his whole family to Shiloh to offer sacrifices and to keep the promise he had made to God. 22 But one time Hannah did not go with him. She told him, “When the boy is old enough to eat solid food, I will take him to Shiloh. Then I will give him to the LORD, and he will always live there.”

To begin with brothers and sisters, Christian Friends, Well Wishers, and Saints of God, I will bring him to Shiloh. I will bring her to Shiloh. I will bring my wife to Shiloh. I will bring my husband to Shiloh and I will bring my family to Shiloh. It’s something special about bringing them to Shiloh. Shiloh in the text represents God. Shiloh represents God’s Church or temple or Ekklesia teach me pastor. And Geographically speaking according to Judges 21:19 Shiloh was located between Bethel in the north and then south of Shechem in the hill-country Ephraim. During the period of judges, it was a major religious center and the permanent cite of the sacred Tabernacle, which the Israelites had carried through the wilderness. Listen to the tint tone and title of my text I will bring him to Shiloh. The title is bigger than our modern American Theology of the original name Shiloh.Because the Bible describes Shiloh as an assembly place for the people of Israel from way back in the time of Joshua. That isn’t that far from Moses and Moses isn’t that far from the beginning.

They had temple Sacrifices at Shiloh. They had religious celebrations and festivals at Shiloh. And we’re having one today here at Shiloh. Happy Mother’s Day.

The prophet Samuel was raised there, and the Ark of the Covenant rested and remained at Shiloh during the time of Eli the high priest. And this is where our story begins. The bible says in I Samuel 1: that there was a man by the name of Elkanah who was an Ephrathite. Elkanah had two wives. In bible days you could have more than one wife. Elkanah ’s wives names were Hannah and Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah didn’t have any. The story goes that Peninnah had a lot of children and would tease and make fun of Hannah.. And Hannah wouldn’t eat but would just cry and cry.

But Old man Elkanah loved him some Hannah. And every year the whole family leave from Ramah and would make their Pilgrimage to Shiloh to the temple of God to make sacrifices unto the Lord.

This sacrifice unto the LORD was designed to bless Elkanah’ s family. And men we ought to bring our families to church and sacrifice unto the Lord so that our entire homes are blessed. That’s why Joshua said I don’t know what you gon do but as for me and my house we’re going to serve the Lord.

So The whole family is up there at Shiloh. Peninnah is there parading her children around and Elkanah has to honor them because they are his children. Elkanah has to honor Peninnah because she is his wife after all. But the strange thing about this is that Elkanah honored Hannah ten time more than Peninnah and all of her children.

Elkanah loved Hannah and Peninnah knew that!! So Peninnah pours salt on the wound Nan nan nan nan you can’t have no children. And it was the hurtingnest thing to Hannah. And one day it was too much for Hannah to take. Hannah said within herself I’d done had enough of Peninnah. I’m going to go and talk to God about it. Everybody in here knows that Just a little talk with Jesus make it alright.

The bible says Hannah went the temple sanctuary tabernacle church at Shiloh to pray.and she begins to pray. Verse 11 says Hannah made a promise to God. She said, “LORD God All-Powerful, look how sad I am. Please Remember me and don’t forget me. Lord If you will give me a son, I will give him back to you all his life, and no one will ever cut his hair with a razor.” In other word I won’t cut his hair means that her son would come up the strict Nazarite way.Everybody ain’t cut out to live like a devout Nazarite. But Hannah Prayed

1.Prayer changes the situation that’s out of your control in your life. 2. Prayer changes the awful condition that you find your self in and 3.Prayer changes the ugly circumstances that happen when your take your eyes are off of the Lord. Preach Boy.

Hannah is praying. Not no little praying either. Hannah is praying so hard until heaven has stopped and God’s ear is listening. And that’s it!!! that’s the point.Brothers and sisters You’ve got to get God’s attention!! Tell your neighbor: You got to get God’s Attention

And when you get God’s attention, God will dispatch angels down to planet earth on your behalf and get other people’s attention.Talk to me somebody.yeah 3x

Hannah is pouring out her heart to God and she says Lord if you take away to awful plight I find myself in. I dedicate my son to temple service. Every year 3x Hannah would go up to Shiloh and pray..every year! But this year she prayed a different kind of prayer. This year she prayed an unselfish prayer. This year she prayer a dedicatorial prayer because this prayer honors God!!! She’s willing to dedicate her son back to the service of the Lord.

Hannah is praying so hard in her heart that her lips are moving but no words are coming out of her mouth. And any and everybody that sees somebody praying like that in this day and time would say that’s a serious prayer 2x.

I don’t know what they praying about but that’s a serious prayer. Oftentimes I pray for my family, my church family my friends, and even my foes because I want God to honor my prayers.

Eli the High Priest saw Hannah praying and he thought she was drunk..In verse 14 Rev Eli said Hannah, “Stop getting drunk! Throw away your wine!”15 Hannah answered, “No, sir 2x Hold up there Pastor, I have not drunk any wine or beer. Pastor you just don’t know I am woman that is deeply troubled. And Pastor Eli to tell you the truth, I was telling the LORD about all my problems. Hannah said I ain’t got nobody else I can tell this too. In Verse 16 Hannah said Pastor Don’t think that I am an evil woman. I have just been praying and praying because I have so many troubles and I am so sad.” In other words Penninah popping out all them babies and I can’t even have one child.

Then Pastor Eli who is commissioned by God said In verse 17 Hannah Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him. 18 And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad. I see several things here in this story

1. Once you get God’s attention and makes the Pastor pay attention, then commissions the Pastor then Positive results will happen.

2. The Proclamation was Hannah Go in Peace because God is going to answer your prayer.

3. Hannah said Pastor let me find grace ,find favor, and find divine fulfillment through your pronouncement of my blessing. And right there Hannah and Pastor Eli’s relationship began. Hannah had made a holy commitment and wanted a holy conformation to her situation. And the bible says that Hannah got her appetite back and did eat. In 2024 we say that when Stella got her groove back. Because shortly thereafter the bible says that after Hannah Elkanah Peninnah and all her children left from worshipping at Shiloh.

Elkanah knew his wife Hannah, and she conceived and had a baby boy. Hallelujah!!! She named him Samuel. Samuel’s name means I asked the Lord for him. I asked the Lord for him. And listen “I’m not against abortion rights 3x. I’m not against pro choice, but I’m so glad that my mama was pro life…Thank you Jesus she wanted to keep me. It was hard for Hannah to have a baby… and so now we find that Hannah has to honor her vow to God. And the bible says that Elkanah went up to Shiloh and he asked Hannah to come. Hannah said no.Samuel ain’t ready yet. He’s not potty trained He’s still on breast milk, He ain’t really got his baby teeth yet and Samuel hasn’t started talking yet.

And this means before I send my child put in the world I’d better make sure that he/she is equipped to deal with society. And when Samuel was ready Hannah the Mother said I will take him to Shiloh. Then Hannah the Mother said I will give him to the LORD, and he will always live there.” Hannah the Mother said I’m going to take my child to church. Hannah the Mother said I’m going to make sure he has a relationship with God.

And Hannah’s husband Elkanah said if that’s what you want to do, I’m with you. In other words I know how hard it was for you to have one child and Peninnah has had many children for me. And also Elkanah was a man of faith because He said May the Lord grant and honor what you’ve said. Then in verses 24, 25 & 26 The bible says  “When Samuel was old enough to eat, Hannah took him to the house of the LORD at Shiloh, But that’s not all. She also brought a three-year-old bull, one-half bushel of flour, and a leather bag filled with wine. She knew not to go to the house of God empty handed. She went with an offering of sacrifice. because verse 25 says that After they had killed the bull for the sacrifice, Hannah brought Samuel to Eli.Hannah honored her vow to God concerning her son. 26  Hannah said Pastor Eli, do you remember me because “As surely as you live, Pastor, I am the same woman who stood right here near you praying to the LORD. And Look at God Look how God has blessed me.27  Hannah said I prayed for this child, and the LORD answered my prayer and gave him to me. 28 Now I give him back to the LORD. He will belong to the LORD all his life.” And the bible says that Samuel worshiped the LORD there at Shiloh.
