INTRO:
One of my earliest memories of me and my mom is when I was very young.
I had been in the hospital because I was hit in the eye with a car antenna. A bunch of kids in the neighborhood, and I were playing on top of a neighbor's car and my little sister wanted to climb on the hood as well. So she grabbed the car antenna to try to help herself up on top of the car. When I saw she couldn't do it, I reached down to give her a hand. she slipped and fell. But on the way down let go of the car antenna, which in turn swung up and hit me in the eye.
That put me in the hospital for about a week. The Lord was gracious to me. Thankfully, everything turned out OK. I didn't lose. I didn't lose my eye, even though I couldn't see out of it for a little while.
For the next year or so, I had to go in regularly for therapy sessions and for the doctor to monitor my eye. My mom would take me to and from the doctor's appointments on the bus. I remember they would shoot something like laser beams into my eye. Those beams would leave me sort of blind for a couple of hours afterward. So on the ride home my mom would have to hold my hand so I wouldn't trip and fall.
I remember they would make me wear sunglasses to protect my eye from the sun. It felt like those glasses were as big as my entire face!!!
One day I remember mom and I were walking home from the bus stop and we had to walk past my school. I remember the kids from my class were outside playing in the yard that moment. And a little girl saw me from the other side of the fence and yelled out "Hi Nemi". I pretended I didn't hear her, because I didn't want her to see me wearing those humongous glasses!!! So she yelled out again "Hi Nemi" and again I ignored her feeling too embarrassed to turn around.
My mom asked me "why don't you answer her?" I remember telling her I was too embarrassed. I remember her letting go of my hand and putting her arm around me and squeezing my close to her.
That little hug from my mom made me feel a little less embarrassed and a whole lot better.

13 I will comfort you there in Jerusalem as a mother comforts her child.”
I’ve always been amazed that when God needed to explain to His people how He would care for them… he had to use a mom as an example!
BODY:
BODY:
I understand that today is not a happy day for everyone...
Not everyone was blessed to have a mother like you had:
Some people will spend the rest of their lives trying to figure out why their mothers didn’t want them. (abused them, neglected them, etc.)
And yet will strive to be the mother she never had.
Some women want to be mothers; but their bodies don’t agree with them.
infertility rates are sky high today
For some this day reminds them of the moms that they have lost.
What about the single moms?
Some man spoke nicely to you, whispered in your ear, slept in your bed.
But when you gave birth, he was nowhere to be found
LADIES WE SEE YOU. and we honor you.
The Bible says we have to honor our father and our mother… so today we honor you mom. (Round of applause for the moms)
This exquisite picture of a truly lovely wife is conceived and drawn in accordance with the customs of Eastern nations, but its moral teachings suit all times.
In Hebrew the verses begin with the letters of the Hebrew alphabet in order
Proverbs 31:10–31 (NLT)
10 Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies.
11 Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life.
12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.
13 She finds wool and flax and busily spins it.
14 She is like a merchant’s ship, bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household and plan the day’s work for her servant girls.
16 She goes to inspect a field and buys it; with her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She is energetic and strong, a hard worker.
18 She makes sure her dealings are profitable; her lamp burns late into the night.
19 Her hands are busy spinning thread, her fingers twisting fiber.
20 She extends a helping hand to the poor and opens her arms to the needy.
21 She has no fear of winter for her household, for everyone has warm clothes.
22 She makes her own bedspreads. She dresses in fine linen and purple gowns.
23 Her husband is well known at the city gates, where he sits with the other civic leaders.
24 She makes belted linen garments and sashes to sell to the merchants.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.
26 When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness.
27 She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness.
28 Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her:
29 “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.
31 Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.
Proverbs 31:10–31 (NTV)

I’m amazed how God wired women to be mothers!
Sacrificial love: like story in 1 kings 3:16-28. 2 women fighting over who Solomon orders the baby cut in half. real mom says no!
Moms body will let itself die in order to give the baby the nutrition if needs: (anemia).
Feats of strengths:
April 9, 1982 Associated Press,
Angela Cavallo lifted a Chevy Impala to free her son who was pinned while working on the tranny.
WE THANK GOD FOR YOU MOMS!
