Once everyone has had a turn -
Now, I am going to challenge you guys. What did we learn last week?
(child-like faith)
Okay, here is our next lesson.
Matthew 18:10–14 ““Beware that you don’t look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels are always in the presence of my heavenly Father. “If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost? And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he will rejoice over it more than over the ninety-nine that didn’t wander away! In the same way, it is not my heavenly Father’s will that even one of these little ones should perish.”
Can anyone tell me what this means?
What is the first line of this passage? Do not look down on one another! How often do we look at our brother, sister, friend, acquaintance, and look at them as less than we are? How often do we think we are better than someone else?
Does anyone remember last week when I mentioned being humble? Each person is created in love just as you are. So what makes us think that God will only rescue us and not someone else? Jesus died for others too, not just yourself, so why treat others as if he didn’t? What is the parable here? The shepherd left the 99 sheep to go find the lost 100th one. And do you think he was happy to find it? SO, what why do we treat people like Jesus wont go find them just as fast as he would find us?
Jesus loves us all, and died for everyone. Doesnt matter what they have done. Heaven is for all sho believe in him. So treat others kindly, cause Jesus died for them too.
