Aren’t you glad that Jesus doesn’t turn away anyone who seeks Him but loves us all the same? Now people will reject you but Jesus will never turn you away. Even the Church, who is the body of Christ on earth will reject people. But, I’m glad that Jesus, not people who are supposed to represent Jesus, but Jesus, does not turn anyone away. There are people so lost who actually believe that Jesus never even existed, not even in a merely historical way. But, Jesus still extends His love to those that hate Him the most. And the basis of receiving that blessed relationship is all in our faith in God through Christ Jesus. Not our behavior, but our faith. Not our money, but our faith. Not our social status, but our faith. Not our ethnicity, but our faith. So the difference between those people who pretend to be Christian and do evil and those who are Christian and desire to do good is the faith that they have and the Who they put that faith in. This is serious stuff Church because I’m afraid that a lot of people are fooled. Too many people think that there are many ways to heaven even though Jesus says, “no one gets to the Father but by me.” Too many people think that they can call themselves righteous and at the same time still be raciest. Too many people think that they can attend Church and attend Strip Clubs. Too many people think that they can be baptized in the by in fire by the Holy Spirit and put fire to smoke drugs. Too many people think that they can follow Jesus and follow pagan religions of the culture. There has to be a defining mark from the saints and the ain’ts, the believers and the nonbelievers, us and them, the Church and the world, the truth and the lie. And the defining mark is your faith and who you put for faith into. The bible says, “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” So the goal is to have this faith, for this kind of faith is “An Impressive Faith”.

1. Her Faith is Placed in the Person of Jesus
Make no mistake about it. You can have the greatest amount of faith that anyone has ever had on this planet and it won’t mean anything if it’s not in Jesus. Placing your faith in anyone else but Jesus is like pushing a parked car up hill on ice, you aint going anywhere. She puts her faith in Jesus. This in itself is precious be she is not a Jew. This woman is a Canaanite woman, a single mother. She is not in a cultural position to call on Jesus be she knows that only Jesus can help her. She knew that Jesus was able, therefore she places her faith in Him.

And what is more impressive is that she calls him by his messianic title. “Lord, Son of David” and she has the humility to first plead for mercy!

I’m so glad for praying mothers like this mother.
And through the years I have found the people who are found to be praying the hardest, and the most are Mothers. Church mothers. Play mothers. Birth Mothers. Step Mothers. Mentoring Mothers. Mothers. When mothers pray there is a special sense of selflessness. Because they only want the best for their child. (Preach on Mothers and Prayers)
