Our Personal Duty

Have genuine love - love God purely and you will love others without hypocrisy.
Abhor evil - to many today tolerate evil.
Vice is a monster of such frightful mien, that to be hated needs but to be seen; Yet seen too oft, familiar with her face, We first endure, then pity, then embrace.
Psalm 97:10 “O you who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the lives of his saints; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.” Hebrews 1:9 “You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.””
Cleave to good - be glued to. The same word for a man leaving father and mother and cleaving to his wife.

Our Duty To Believers

Be kindly affectionate to one another - Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”
Honor one another.
Diligent, fervent in spirit (corporate worship), serving the Lord.
Prayer, patience, giving to needs, hospitable.

Our Duty To All People

Bless even persecutors.
Rejoice and weep with others. Associate with the humble. (William Tell Sackett)

Our Duty to Personal Enemies

Seek to live at peace if possible. Don’t avenge, but trust God.
Deuteronomy 32:35 “Vengeance is mine, and recompense, for the time when their foot shall slip; for the day of their calamity is at hand, and their doom comes swiftly.’”
Proverbs 25:21 “If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink,”
Overcome evil with good.
