Satan the Liar

Murderer

Romans 5:12 “12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—”

Satan is responsible for every death.

He also did it maliciously, deliberately, knowing the pain he would cause. He was fighting against God, so he rejoiced to destroy the work of God know as man.

1 John 3:12 “12 not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous.”

Evil will always hate the right. The right brings conviction and causes other to see the difference and to judge them.

Yet Jesus promised something different.

John 8:51 “51 Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.””

The Jews were more than sceptical. They flat our mocked Him and lifted up Abraham as there witness.

Abraham was righteous and he died.

John 8:53 “53 Are You greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? And the prophets are dead. Who do You make Yourself out to be?””

John 8:54–58 “54 Jesus answered, “If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. It is My Father who honors Me, of whom you say that He is your God. 55 Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and keep His word. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” 57 Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” 58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.””

Liar

God and Jesus are both true, they are so absolutely true that they are the Truth, the foundation of all truth.

Psalm 14:1 “1 The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.”

Proverbs 8:13 “13 The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate.”

Proverbs 9:10 “10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”

John 14:6 “6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Liar and deceiver

Genesis 3:13 “13 And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.””

John 8:44 “44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.”

Worse than that. He deceives our minds until they are blind.

2 Corinthians 4:3–4 “3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.”

2 Corinthians 3:14 “14 But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ.”

Matthew 13:19 “19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside.”

Even when he uses scripture, he twists it.

Matthew 4:5–7 “5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ” 7 Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ””

He uses scripture to bring glory to man.

Scripture is always about bringing glory to God.

So even when he tells and uses the truth, it is to deceive.

What is our hope?

We have the truth in God’s Word?

John 8:32 “32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.””

2 Corinthians 2:11 “11 lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.”

The truth is also not a dead truth, but a living person that will help us understand if we seek Him.

Matthew 7:7 “7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”

Promise

John 7:17 “17 If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority.”

God has promised that when we come with humble obedient hearts, we will know.... He is actively seeking for His sheep, we must only come and in truth.
