Bible
Bible
is central to our clubs:
Cubbies: 1 John 4:10
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Sparks: John 3:16
T&T: Ephesians 2:8-9
at end of entrance booklet
Along the way: Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23
The TRUTH
The PENALTY, The GIFT
Trek: 1 Thessalonians 4:1-3a
1 Thessalonians 4:1–3a (NASB95)
Finally then, brethren, we request and exhort you in the Lord Jesus… that you excel still more…
The goal – sanctification of believers
We challenged the Trek group, the teens
To a life of sexual morality (gasp!)
Average age of first exposure to pornography, 8-11
I doubt there are 7 other teens hearing this from God’s Word as it was presented this year
Thanks for sticking it out
This verse, these young men and ladies were challenged to EXCEL
Growth
Growth
Awana demonstrates the Christian walk
Cubbies - learn the basics
Sparks - more basics, maybe profession of faith
T&T - still more basics, but challenge to know Jesus, start applying what is learned
Trek - “Yes, more basics, now GAME ON - the world is after you
The spiritual battle is real
Adults here, what should be a key verse for us?
All these verses above?
Yes, trust Jesus for forgiveness, be saved, a believer
BUT…never settle for “good enough” – “I’m good”
Maybe Psalm 51:16-19 - the idea of a broken and contrite heart, ready to live for the LORD
Maybe Colossians 3:22-23
Slaves, in all things obey those who are your masters on earth, not with external service, as those who merely please men, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men,
POINT - Don’t “do” things just because that is what Christians “do”
Allow yourself to be overcome by the love of Jesus
Then give in to the compelling urge to love Him, serve others, set Jesus as priority #1!
These clubbers SEE YOUR PRIORITIES
They KNOW what’s important to you

Hours of life until age 18
Hours of life for you to raise your kids to make decisions for the LORD
TIME – a gift from God, to use for His glory!
These clubbers/kids, young people
spend 1.5 hours with us, once a week (and 1 hour of that is time in the Word or a teaching lesson).
MATH:
Let’s assume they spend 8 hours a day asleep
8 x 7 = 56 sleeping hours
1 x 7 = 7 time in Awana, in the Word, with believers pointing them to Christ, encouraging them to trust Jesus and living for Him – counter-cultural
168 total hours in the week
63 accounted for (56 sleeping, and 7 of those grounded in the Word)
How are YOU guiding your children the remainder of the 105 hours EVERY week?
School days – are your kids spending their time with other kids and teachers in an environment morally supported by God’s Word?
Maybe so – praise the LORD!
105 hours every week
How much of that time is spent surrounded by a Biblical morality?
How much time do YOU spend that way, and model to your children?
Of the 157,776, there are 105,184 waking hours – until they turn 18
How old is your child, or children?
Don’t wait to get started
EVERY hour you are NOT leading your child BIBLICALLY, the enemy is leading otherwise.
EVERY hour you are not leading your child BIBLICALLY, the world is.
The world is no friend to our children
The world is a mission field for them
We are doing our best to train them up
To be prepared, to be equipped
2 Timothy 2:15 (NASB95)
Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman who needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth
2 Timothy 2:15 – We are helping them to be approved unto God, not ashamed to say they follow Jesus
We (Awana clubs) are doing our best
AND…moms, dads, grandmas and grandpas, friends…
They need YOU to step up and do your best to raise them up in the nurture and admonition of the LORD
Because YOU have the most time with them
These kids have friends
what they need are Godly parents to help them navigate this world in a life lived for the LORD.
