Thank God For All He Has Done

2 Thessalonians 1:1-4

I. Paul Felt Bound To Thank God (vss 2-3)

II. We Should Be Thankful For the Acceptance of God’s Word

2 Thessalonians 2:13

“13 But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth.”

2 Timothy 3:16–17

“16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

2 Peter 1:20–21 ESV

20 knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. 21 For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

III. Thank God For Our Salvation

1 Thessalonians 2:

“13 And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.”

Ephesians 1:

“4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love”

1 Thessalonians 5:17–18

“17 pray without ceasing,

18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
