Psalm 110:title–1 (ESV) A Psalm of David. 1The LORD says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.” 1 Samuel 25:28–31 (ESV) Please forgive the trespass of your servant. For the LORD will certainly make my lord a sure house, because my lord is fighting the battles of the 29 LORD, and evil shall not be found in you so long as you live. If men rise up to pursue you and to seek your life, the life of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of the living in the care of the LORD your God. And the lives of your enemies he shall sling out as from the hollow of a sling. 30And when the LORD has done to my lord according to all the good that He has spoken concerning you and has appointed you prince over Israel, 31my lord shall have no cause of grief or pangs of conscience for having shed blood without cause or for my lord working salvation himself. And when the LORD has dealt well with my lord, then remember your servant.” Psalm 110:1 (ESV) The LORD says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.” Hebrews 1:13 (ESV) And to which of the angels has he [the Father] ever said, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”? Hebrews 1:1–5 (ESV) Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by 2 the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. 3He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs. 5For to which of the angels did God ever say, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”? Or again, “I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son”? Colossians 2:18–19 (ESV) Let no one disqualify you, insisting on asceticism and worship of angels, going on in detail about visions, puffed up without reason by 19 his sensuous mind, and not holding fast to the Head, from whom the whole body, nourished and knit together through its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God. Mark 12:35–37a (ESV) And as Jesus taught in the temple, he said, “How can the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David? 36David himself, in the Holy Spirit, declared, “ ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I 37 put your enemies under your feet.” ’ David himself calls him Lord. So how is he his son?” Acts 2:29, 34-35 (ESV) “Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this 34 day . . . . For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says, “ ‘The LORD said 35 to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.” Acts 2:36 (ESV) Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him [Jesus] both Lord [master] and Christ [Messiah], this Jesus whom you crucified.” Psalm 110:4 (ESV) The LORD has sworn and will not change his mind, “You are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.” Genesis 14:17–20 (ESV) After his [Abram’s] return from the defeat of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley). 18And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. (He was priest of God Most High.) 19And he blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; 20and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand!” And Abram gave him a tenth of everything. Numbers 3:10 (ESV) And you shall appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall guard their priesthood. But if any outsider comes near, he shall be put to death.” Numbers 16:40 (ESV) to be a reminder to the people of Israel, so that no outsider, who is not of the descendants of Aaron, should draw near to burn incense before the LORD, lest he become like Korah [a Levite but not a priest from the line of Aaron and therefore not qualified to burn incense] and his company— as the LORD said to him through Moses. 2 Chronicles 26:16-18 (ESV) But when he [King Uzziah] was strong, he grew proud, to his destruction. For he was unfaithful to the LORD his God and entered the temple of the LORD to burn incense on the altar of incense. 17But Azariah the priest went in after him, with eighty priests of the LORD who were men of valor, 18and they withstood King Uzziah and said to him, “It is not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the LORD, but for the priests, the sons of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense. Go out of the sanctuary, for you have done wrong, and it will bring you no honor from the LORD God.” Genesis 14:18–20 (ESV) And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and 19 wine. (He was priest of God Most High.) And he blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram by God Most 20 High, Possessor of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand!” And Abram gave him a tenth of everything. Colossians 1:21 (ESV) And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, Psalm 2:2–3 (ESV) The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against his Anointed, saying, 3“Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.” Psalm 110:1 (ESV) The LORD says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.” Colossians 1:22a (ESV) he [Christ] has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death . . . Colossians 1:22b (ESV) he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, Psalm 110:3 (ESV) Your people will offer themselves freely on the day of your power, in holy garments; from the womb of the morning, the dew of your youth will be yours. Romans 12:1 (ESV) I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship Hebrews 10:21–22 (ESV) and since we have a great priest over the 22 house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. John 5:22–23 (ESV) For the Father judges no one, but has given 23 all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. Psalm 110:6 (ESV) He will execute judgment among the nations, filling them with corpses; he will shatter chiefs over the wide earth. Psalm 110:2 (ESV) The LORD sends forth from Zion your mighty scepter. Rule in the midst of your enemies! Psalm 2:9 (ESV) You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”
