Father as we stay to your word now may your word not return void. May your word do exactly what you have purpose for me to do and teach us. Bedias to your word help us to never take your word Lightly for your word is the same just like Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever will be the same Jesus is the word of God. Your word will always be the same your word teaches us that scriptures can never be broken. The Lord is reschedule. We're now teaches and help all hard to be ready to receive and do your work in Jesus name we pray. Amen. Amen who has been studying The Book of Matthew we get to chapter 5, which is about The Sermon on the Mount as you remember the beginning of chapter 5 is the The attitudes meaning the attitude that are to be in you focus is on our attitudes our heart. We're all our heart needs to be because the Bible says blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of God. God wants us to persuade your righteousness The Thirst for justice. God wants us to be me God wants us to live according to his way God with all the attitude that we have seen in Matthew 5 in chapter verse 1 to 12 about the Beatitudes. God wants all of them to be in us because God says I hate when this attitudes are in you that's when you are truly blessed. That's when that you are truly happy because it says it even says blessed are two Mourn for they shall be comforted. That's when we don't take send likely when we take things. Seriously. We move the over our sins. And God says a you will find true Comfort Inn me when you don't toy with sin when you said you do like David and Psalm 51:7 cry out to God and ask God to clean you to change you to restore you to restore the joy of Salvation because so many Christians are living with our joy, there are saved but because of the way that they live they don't have the joy of Salvation and David and Houston. The joy of Salvation was taken away from him and that's why David cried out in Psalm 51, not only forgive me Lord, but also Rejoice resale. Towards you mean the joy of Salvation God wants us to live a blessed life. And that's why he gave us the Beatitudes to teachers about how the Kingdom Life work because Jesus message was to report for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. God wants us to live in his kingdom right now. Meaning we live under his rule as ultimately we were living under his rule. But God as Christians when we put our faith in Christ. We returned to him God wants us to live in his kingdom. So we no longer live like the world, but we are called to live a kingdom life. So that's why God gives us the Beatitudes to tell us how to live under search Kingdom God's kingdom and last week. We were remind me again how to live in the Kingdom by being Salt and Light. That's how you live in the kingdom of God. You have to live by salt and has lied and remember as we talked about salt salt create thirst. That means it it it it is attractive as as we living as salt we have to create person people where they want to live their lives like our lives. We also have to speak truth to the culture because salt B when you put salt in a room, it's hurts, but it helps not to deteriorate members salt serve does preservatives when you put salt on a meat it prevented from decaying Salt also adds flavor and gives case if you get our food with no salt. It is not interesting. But when you put some salt in it, it adds flavor it taste good in salt now become the defining factor or whatever you put it in when you put salt in rice now, we it's the fine by the solo. It has some good solid. It tastes really good. It's because the salt was there to make it pays good seats now not only got calls us to be celibate also calls us to be like C light is all throughout scripture event in Genesis. It says let there be light Jesus says in John I am the light of the world summer 121 and 165 says that your word is that 165 but it's in Psalm 119 verse 121. Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light for my pastor in the Bible. Is everywhere why is life so important because we live in a dark World whenever a room is dark the very little like you have in that room shines. Brightly that becomes the centerpiece. They're really when Jesus is calling us to be like guys at 8. I need you to be the centrepiece at work. I'll need you to be the centrepiece of the supermarket. I want you to be the centerpiece wherever you go because this world is dark but you are like and I want you to shine in this world and Jesus the Same that's how you live in the kingdom of God. That's how you live under his Rule now, he moves to the section here talking about righteousness soaked verse 1 in chapter 5 to 12 focuses on our character the character when it's the display. Play as Christians in the kingdom of God verse 13 to 16 talking about Salt and Light focuses on our influence in the world where we need to have influence in the world. And the way we do it it by being salt and by being like in the world and now in the section where 17248 hear Jesus is going to talk about our righteousness the way that we live righteously in the world spin in the Beatitudes Jesus telling about how to be blessed. But now Jesus is going to be stepping on some toes you ready? And all right. Let's get to Matthew 5 starting in verse 17. So let's read the text. And then we will see what God has two teachers flew the tax of I thought or message today the righteous life and we will see it being manifested in different areas of Our Lives. You're welcome to read with me verse 17, please do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have not come to abolish them but to fulfil them for truly I say to you until Heaven and Earth pass away not on our Yoda not a. Will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Therefore whoever relaxes one of the one of the least of these Commandments And teaches others to do the same will be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven you see the kingdom but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven for I tell you unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees. You will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. You have heard that it was said to doze off of Old you shall not murder and whoever murders will be liable to judgment that I say to you that everyone who is due to see that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment. Whatever insults his brother will be liable to the council and wherever says you fool will be liable to the Hell Fire. If you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you leave your gift to her before the Altar and go first be reconciled to your brother and then come and offer your gift come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are going with him to court less your accuser had you over to the judge and the judge to the guard and you be put in prison truly. I say to you you will never get out until you have paid the last penny his our message in one sentence today. We are commended not only to live differently from the world. We are also Glenda to live a much more righteous life than the religious that is attractive and a fantastic to save the lost one more time. We are commanded not only to live differently from the world. We are also commended to live a much more righteous a much more righteous life than the religious that is attractive and a fantastic to save the less bother be with us now and teaches how to live righteously for you in Jesus name we pray. Amen. Amen. I want to look at with you today too important aspects of the Christian Life to important aspects of the Christian Life and I know some of you are smiling right now, we only get two points. So that means we're going to get out very early. Be careful. The first one when it has lived out models of frantic face not artificial face the Christian Life when it is lived out model appendix face not artificial face. You saw the message in the one sentence were commended to live differently from the world. But we are also commended to live a much more righteous life in the religious. A lot of people are just religious. It is purely external. It is purely what they can show out to the world but nothing internal today. The Christian Life is much more about what's on the inside of US versus what we can show on the outside and that's why God calls us not only to live differently from the world. Don't do the things that the world to but also you need to live much more righteous than the religious that means the people whenever the door of the church is open. They will be there. You know, they will do everything that looks religious, but that doesn't mean that they are righteous. There's a big difference between being religious and being righteous righteousness comes from a relationship with God not from religion. Not from being religious. Does that mean that or I don't have to show up for church now if you have a relationship with Christ, you will show up Fortress because Jesus David says I was glad when they say to me, let us go to the house of the Lord Hebrew says do not forsake assembling together for it is good so we can start up one another so we come here so we can stir up one another to Good Works literally. Start up means like that. I'm going to get on your nerve to do right and that the same time encourage you to do right to hear. Jesus is calling us to live the righteous life in the righteous life is attractive and it is a life. That is a Fen tick and when we do so we will help to save the lust so Jesus is calling us to models of tomorrow or Fenty face that artificial face. So here he's taking it from the text here from the Pharisees in the Scribe. Say that word starting verse 17. Jesus says do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. When is referring to the Lord here is referring to the in the prophecies referring to the Old Testament the first five books of the Bible refer to the Lord. That's what we called the pentateuch in the Jewish Bible. We call it the toll right at where he's referring to their when he saying the law and the prophets is the rest of the Old Testament from Joshua till Molokai. That's what he's referring there when they saying I do not think that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets who Jesus is saying don't think that I have come to abolish the Old Testament because remember Jesus says that they you read the scriptures you think that you have life in them, but the scriptures are about

That's where Jesus says in the Book of John. So Jesus is telling them. I did not come to abolish the law. Right only if you look at the Book of Matthew. Open it's it's replete. It's pregnant with quotations from the old testament's memorized as reread the flu Matthews. So far all the texts referred back to the Old Testament where Jesus says I did come to abolish the law, but I have come to fulfil at that's where Jesus said the scriptures are about me. So whatever Jesus come to do. Remember the prophecies about Jesus everything about Jesus was prophesied that you already forget everything about Matthew. Remember Jesus went to Galileo because it was prophesied. Jesus was born in Bethlehem because it was prophesied. He went to live in Nazareth because it was prophesied. Do I need to say more? Take me to Caesar's when Jesus says a I have come not to abolish the law. But I come to fulfil a Jesus ain't losing the scripture for you. Jesus say that did not come to abolish the law of the Prophet. I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them John the Baptist is seen as the last prophet in the Old Testament, although he appeared in the New Testament and John the Baptist was the Forerunner to Jesus Christ Jesus. I did not come to abolish the law and the prophets see they are about me John the Baptist was all about who Jesus Christ when Jesus says I came to fulfil them. That's what Jesus says. I am. The Living Water Jesus is the word of God for truly. I say to you until Heaven and Earth pass away. Not on a Yoder. That's the smallest Greek letter or yard in the Hebrews NADA. That's like the smallest stroke that you can make in. The Hebrew language is a little stroke make a big difference in the meaning is just a kuivila to a. That's like the smallest. Finger, we can see on a page. It says for truly I say to you until Heaven and Earth pass away night on I Yoda smallest later not up. The smallest thing you can see on the page will pass from the law until oral is accomplishing. John 10. Jesus says scriptures cannot be broken. So what Jesus say, what would God's word says it will come to pass and every word of God proves some 19 and Psalm 119 is all about the word of God know it's also important to make a little distinction here about ancient Israel and today as you know, the church is spiritual Israel in the Old Testament. You had what you call ceremonial law. Yeah, you had dietary law you had civil laws and you had mobile Lord's do today. If you look at some more Niall law that those don't apply any longer. It has to do with the temple in the way that they did remember they accuse Jesus for eating with people without washing his head. They were talking to Jesus about holding your disciples or eating. They didn't wipe their hands. That's not the thing that matters this work the things that were set up so that the the ancient Israel would live very differently from all the other cultures because remember not only they were God's people but they were also a nation that's why you had civil laws on the way that they do things that will be different from The Way of the World dietary Lord 88 differently. Is God wanted them to have a good diet? But today you can eat your shrimp and eat your pork without any fear. You are not sending Carrie for doing those because God had a very specific purpose for enchant Israel for deals. When you see in the Book of Leviticus. This is there for whatever relaxes one of the least of these Commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. You have the moral law. Can you tell me one of the law The Ten Commandments that doesn't apply today do some more laws when it says do not commit adultery. Does that still apply? The Motorola when it says do not have any other God before me is that still apply you bet. It does honor your father and your mother is that still apply? Those laws are based on what Galatians called The Law of love? No, we are under the law of Love. See the law was a mirror to look at us and see a you look up bad. You look do something about it. But the key we could not do anything about it. We could not save ourselves. That's why we have Jesus Christ. That's what the book of Romans tells us all about. Okay, so we have the Lord Jesus saying, hey, not that the Lord is bad. It's just we don't have the ability to keep it. And that's why the way we live it is flu. Jesus Christ Our righteousness is not in ourselves and what we can do and what we can show externally but it's how do we have Cheese's you know, how I'd have we been changed by him and Jesus says a you teach the whole Council of God. It says those who teach the god Commandments will be called great in heaven. But whoever does not teach them will be called lease in Heaven There is there are some things you'll never hear them talk about. Depending on where the church is. They would avoid them at all costs to keep a crowd but the Bible says you got to teach the whole scripture scripture. If I win one excuse people do they not ready for it? You know, that's why we don't want to create any division in the church, you know have their scripture says you want to be called great in heaven or you want to be cold lease in heaven. You want to be faithful to his word. This is why I tell you unless your righteousness. You see that's where you need to be more righteous than the religious why I tell you unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees. You will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven There was a saying back in the days if anybody will make it to Heaven it will be the scribes and Pharisees. You know a scribe when they're training started at 14 years old and ended when they were 40 years old. Do you know any of the program here college degree that takes You from 14 years old till 40 years old 26 years studying.

That's how long the Scribe training word. That's why the Bible when they have found a manuscript of the Bible and is just so accurate with the caring when they found the Dead Sea scroll just really you barely could not find any difference if this describes when they would translate the Bible, you know writing if there was any little mistake. It doesn't matter how long you been writing letters to it away and start over. And those people if you were to pick a religious person to go to heaven, you'll pick the scribes and you will feed the Pharisees because they knew all about the law. Not only that kept the Ten Commandments but they also kept the 613 lures or so that was in the Old Testament, you know, there was even a law about you shall not mix garments, you know cotton and polyester. You should know that I just left exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees outward appearance. showing up you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. So God is saying Hey, I want the heart. I want the heart. I want your heart attitude. Is it look look at the look. That's where you see the Pharisees. They focus on the act of Jesus focuses on what the attitude that's why we need to practice the Beatitudes because they ought to be the Beatitudes that ought to be in us and they need to be in Jesus attitude say it doesn't matter what you portray on the outside, but it's in the if you're on the inside, it's not right. Before Jesus, it doesn't matter. You see sometimes I make my kids and make sure they are complying even though when I know their heart is not in the right place because it works for me. OK Google work with Jesus this still going to have to deal with Jesus for the heart attitude. But me I just looking for short-term results. You better do what I say. We left of your heart attitude. Does that make sense? I'm looking for the odds would appear that I didn't go I need a good attitude. We're going to deal with that later, but I need you to do right now. Are you still need to do it. Okay, but a lot of us, that's how we live, you know, the inside is not a right, but we doing it for sure. We doing it to show that we are doing what is right that he will see Jesus is focused on the heart and that's why you will see as you look at the tax if you look in verse 22 of chapter 5 It says but I say to you because Jesus is going to go here with different sections where Jesus is going to talk about anger is going to talk about Loess divorced over giving a toast keeping commitments breckens retaliation on people talking about the way you treat your enemies. Jesus will show us looking for a religious response. What I'm looking for is a change in heart when it comes to those issues that we face. That's why you see there. Every time you have those dreams stations in verse 22 verse 28 verse 31 verse 34 Verse 39 verse 44 every time he's switching to a different topic that he's using as examples about living a righteous life. He uses the transitions but I say to you. That's what the Lord said but this is what I say to you. So let's look at look. Then we're going to look at the first example with his anger. Look at verse 11 or 11:30 7 of Lucas says while Jesus was speaking a Pharisee ask him to dine with him. So he went in and recline a table. The Pharisee was astonished to see that he did not first why she's and has Daenerys eats the Ramon you'll love the Jewish had a way that they wash their hands and keep going and going it's like a ceremony just to wash your head that would not work today and people ready to eat Jesus the Pharisees. They were shocked. What's wrong with this Rabbi doesn't he know about the ceremonial law.

They were astonished to see the first why she's had before dinner. I just had another tough, but I don't want to share it with your 39th. Now you Pharisees clean you already read it with me clean the outside of the cup and of the dish but inside you are full of weed in which Jesus was never nice to the Pharisees. Because as we will see in chapter 6 Jesus hate apocracy. That's the problem with religion. A lot of us are just religious. Has a lot of greed and wickedness and load of apocracy in us and Jesus does not stand for those fangs. Jesus hates hypocrisy it all its form and does Pharisees while they were worried about Jesus not watching these heads in Jesus uses the analogy saying there are you wash the outside of the cup. You just want to clean cup shiny cup to show or look at my utensils. You got my dick. But inside is just your full of greed you full of wickedness. See the faris's will wear those long robes. They want to show up wherever the go. They want to take the best seat in the house. You got to look at them. Look at the righteous people. Look at the way they walk the way they pray to the Pharisees with him and pray God. Thank God. I'm not. I'm not that.

Easy, they were full of greed and wickedness in their hearts Jesus a diverse 40 look at it with them. You fools did not he will made the outside make the inside also, so didn't think you focus only on the outside appearance. How's your heart? But give all B give as arms those things that are within and behold everything is clean for you. Those people the next verse talks about how they would even try on on the very least of things. They were any little thing. It's kind of like they got $5 that I earn $5 they get up go to it's kinda like the Celtic go did Tyronn Lue go did they eat? They sell some produce. They Town Fair Tire on every single thing. Regina says AK give as arms those things that are within Jesus said more than your money. I need what I need your heart. That's what Paul teaches us in 1st and 2nd Corinthians in chapter 7 8 9 and also in 1st Corinthians chapter 16. Jesus want are hard and behold everything is clean for you. If Jesus edit clean it is clean. Now the first example Jesus gives us the second thing. Christian Life, we need to model righteous anger forgiveness and Reconciliation the Christian Life when it is lived out not only models of fencing faith and not artificial face, but also the Christian Life models righteous anger forgiveness and Reconciliation. And if somebody is having trouble today River gotten angry any of you only only 33 minutes before he takes you for draining the crap fish. Jesus say we need to model righteous anger. There's a kind of anger. That is right. But there is a type of anger that is wrong and it is not good. It does not represent God. It doesn't show unattractive faith. It doesn't show on offense take Faith and that's why we see here in verse 21 and 22 talking about anger. It says you have heard that it was said to do some hold you shall know that mother but whoever murders will be liable to judgment to see people worried about consequences look at verse 22, but I say to you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment whatever insults his brother will be liable to the council and wherever says you fool will be liable to the Hellfire. What's the connection between anger and murder? It starts where?

in your heart You just pull out a gun and just shoot somebody. There was something brewing in your heart. You make me angry and I'm going to put that on you and kill somebody but how do we destroy people are we mothering people every day with our tots with our mouths the way that we destroyed him with gossip with we tell all sorts of bad things about them. And then Jesus says 8 mother and anger they are on the same level. So Jesus says you have heard that it was said of all you shall not murder. But Jesus is saying okay you talking about another but let me let you in on a secret anger and mother there are at the same level. If you have on the righteous anger and then looking at somebody who murdered someone you are one and the same. They might be greater consequences. He might spend more time in jail.

Jesus is saying hey. Murder and anger. They are all under the same manner, but I say to you everyone was angry with his brother will be liable to the judge whatever insults his brother will be liable to the council and wherever says you fool, you will be liable liable to the Hell Fire talking about hell, they're Jesus. It's just it's just I got us some short fuse.

This one with people when they say start cussing in the deli, excuse my French I usually always like to remind them a I speak French, but I don't know those words. That's what a friend of mine used to say.

But that was my comeback text.

God says God tells us eggs. Be careful with your anger because your anger will lead you to places you don't want to be it will lead you to do things that you don't want to do. It will lead you to say things. You don't want to say see the Pharisees that focus on the letter of the law. Hey brother, I don't kill people check. I don't do this. I don't do that. I don't do that. But Jesus says, okay. Well, let's talk about the things that are Brewing on the inside that people may not see Jesus says a my focus is on the spirit of the law. Not the letter of the law. Cakes God tells us not to murder. But really the spirit of the law is that her heart will be in the right place. We met somebody but if we angry with them in your heart, it's just as if that we are destroying them seem to be attractive to live an attractive life to the world that we need to model righteous anger. We need model righteous anger. See if there's a difference between a sinful anger and righteous anger. Look at a vision for 26. What does it say there? Stay with me be angry and do not send so does that mean that we can get angry? We can get angry if somebody is doing wrong. And then we just look on and I were just being like a honey Christian instead of being a salt Christian. Isn't that what the world is turning into honey Christian you can do whatever you want. Oh bless your heart if your heart tells you to do it, but the Bible says the heart is wicked and deceitful Above All Things who can understand that the guy tells you to be solved not honey. Okay, we going to tell the truth in love but God didn't call us to be honey in the culture. God calls us to be salt. So when we see abuse is taking place when we see wrong and taking place in the culture when we see people taking advantage of children sex trafficking in whatever form that it comes in. We need to get angry.

This is righteous anger. Just like Jesus was angry about the Pharisees when they were taking advantage of people in the temple when there were fleecing them and taking all their money. Making them pay for every single thing in the temple and placing them and getting all kinds of evil thing in the in the temple. Why did Jesus do Jesus flip some tables? Jesus Chase been out of the temple because Jesus says my house shall be a House of Prayer, but you have made it into a den of Thieves. Jesus model righteous anger for us. That's why I hear Ephesians. 4:26 says be angry. That means biblically you angry at the things that God is angry. I just got to break your heart for what breaks his but it says do not send so when you see those unrighteous things being done in the culture and people that you know and your family You angry but you addressed it biblically you pray something that you can do in your power. If you know a kid is being abused in one place. You can move them to a different place you do that. That's how you manifest your right you anger, but there's also a type of anger that is sinful because it says be angry and do not send that it says do not let the sun go down on your anger. That means you need to try to get rid of anger and how where can I buy? Because when the anger says in your heart and makes you bitter. And then it leads to bigger things murders one of them. Case so it says be angry do not send that. I'd let the sun go down on your anger James 1:19 220se know this my beloved Brothers let every person be great to hear slow to speak and slow to anger when we looked at the book of Jim's Lock them. That was the wind that got most of our attention when we studied the Book of James for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. That's one Bible verse I used to have on my desk when I was a school principal. Convictions will do things that makes you want to react.

You know, we must recover pan suspend them. You're going home for 10 days you go to 45 days you that's it you done cuz you have that power doesn't mean that you have to do it.

Because the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God, you need to take a chill pill you need to cool down before you go ahead and act and react sit down with the kids and give them their due process. Listen to their side. That's what happened. Man does not produce the righteousness of God. I don't know what it will look like for you and your work in your family. Whatever it is. How do you control the anger in your life? Because anger can lid lead to sin Proverbs 29 20. Do you see a man? Who is Hasty in his words? What does it say? There is more. Hope for a

Look for it, but you love the Bible.

equal opportunity it touches everybody. Do you see a man with Hasty in his word? There's more hope for a fool than for him Proverbs 14:29. Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he will has a hasty temper. exhaust Bali do we need to be careful of anger?

anger left unchecked leads to sin

Proverbs 16:32 we're very slow to anger is better than the mighty and he will rules his Spirit than he would take the city. So the Bible is saying here a if you can control your anger you better than a great warrior you better than a military leader.

Looking an example in Genesis. Remember Cain and Abel? What anger leads to murder that's an example in the Bible in Genesis 4327. It says in the course of time. Can you brought to the Lord and offering of fruit of the ground and Abel also breath of the firstborn of his flock and of they are fat portions and the Lord had regard for Abel and he's offering but Cain and he's offering he had no regards. Okay was very what they would me angry and he's faced fail. The Lord said to King. Why are you angry and why has your face Fallen? The Bible is what God says, if you do, well you will be accepted and if you do not do well look at this. That's why you got to get rid of anger quickly sin is crouching at your door. It's desire is contrary to you. But you must rule over it. You need to rule over your anger or your anger will take you to places where you don't want to go. You will say things and you will do things that you will only come to regret. Some of them may be for the rest of your life Amos. 111 says for duck says the Lord for three transgressions of Edom and 44. I will not revoke the punishment because he pursued his brother with the sword and cast of all pity and look at the third one be ready. And he is anger tour perpetually.

We can be angry forever. And a lot of us we leave on anger Street. And we never want to move out and God is telling us a if you living in Anger Street right now, you need to move quickly. You need to find another house on Pease Avenue. Because God is calling us to get rid of anger in our life. And God says he would not he would keep his wrath forever or eat them because of their anger. They kept perpetually. Toward the brother who really Bible is telling us avoid anger Proverbs 22 2425 make no friendship with a man given to anger all go to River Rats full man to God giving us permission not to be friends at them people. Okay. I didn't say less you learn what his wings and entangle yourself in a snare.

Birds of the same feathers flock together. So if that's where you hang out you hang out with people given to anger what's going to happen. You're going to take it in all so slowly, but surely it's going to come in you as well Proverbs. 19:11 Good Sense makes one. slow to anger in the Bible

and it is his glory to open. How many times have you?

Forgot to say it needs to be easy for us because it makes sense. That is unless you trying to live with somebody without any good sense. Any common sense, you need to get rid of that. Overlook open says don't be nitpicky. Don't look at every single thing. God says you have to overlook certain things. Because it says good sense makes one slow to anger and it is his glory make it known. to overlook an offense

Oh this is going deep.

proverbs 15:1 we can do it a soft answer turns away wrath but a harsh word does what?

All of us could take a little dose of that medicine everyday, right?

We need to memorize this and keep saying it to us everyday a soft answer turns away wrath but a harsh word doesn't make it better.

Stirs up anger goes back to the Beatitudes the additives that ought to be in us. What does it say blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth. I want you to have a good life and the only way you can have a good life is when you learn self-control. It's easy enough power if you have the power to do certain things, but you choose not to do it. Gus's that's the only way you're going to enjoy this life leave or life of meekness. I can be angry right now. I can do this. I can say this I can say that to you because I know I'm right you all wrong, but I

stuff answer turns away wrath. I'm going to be kind to you even when you're not kind to me. A harsh word stirs up anger. I'm not going to say a harsh word. I'm going to be kind I'm going to be more like my God Proverbs 15:4 gentle tongue is the tree of life. You give life when you speak gentle kind words to people you giving life to them. But anger angry was just turns them down but perverseness in it breaks the spirits you want to be accused of breaking people's beer. How do you want to be life giving you want to be known as a tree of life? Are you giving life to people or you just breaking their Spirit? But this is a no and I want you to be like giving because it's his life and death are in the power of the tongue.

It's a good news. You can overcome anger. look at a word from our sponsor the Bible Ephesians 4:31, let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you. What is the assumption? We can. Put them away. Yes. We can put them away Along With all Maui Colossians 3 8 same thing, but now you must put them all away. What's on the list anger RAF Lee slender obscene talk from your mouth. So can we put anger away according to the Bible? and a political leader slogan. Yes, we can remember this one. Yes, you can.

No, forgiveness and Reconciliation forgiveness and Reconciliation that only we need to put away anger as the Christian and the Christian Life when when it is really lived out needs to model righteous anger. But we also need to model forgiveness and Reconciliation. Look at verse 23 through 26 to end our time. It says if you are offering your gift at the altar and they are remember that your brother has something against you if you'll get there before the Altar and go first be reconciled to your brother and then come and offer your gift remember offering this people when they would go to the temple they have to go get their gift on the altar. I'm here cuz the problem with somebody. How does a pitcher jail?

Leafeon

How is that contrary to our culture today? We're a lot of churches as long as you said you at I've you good you don't have to show up. Don't even have to show up. I look as the tide comes in you good. God God God wants you to

got your money. Remember we read some 50 God who owns the cattle on the hill, but that's not how that works has been using the culture is it?

Is more to come and give give give give more but I do everything God doesn't need our money. God doesn't need our stuff. When we give $100 to the church, that's got me $200. Patricia Hewitt Wiccan God provides for the church will provide for the church. But don't think I want your heart. I want you to change. I want you inside to change not the outside to show that I'm giving but I'm not living. So if you are offering your gift at the altar in there remember that your brother had to look at the craziness in the verse this either no one's that your brother has something against you. This is surely you have something against your brother. The God is going with you to be the initiator when there is a problem.

Even when people are problems against you God calls you to be the initiator. For reconciliation leave your give a deal through there before the altar go first be reconciled to your brother and come and offer your gift come to terms quickly with your Accuser. Not necessarily what the one where is my mind? I have to study it like 10 times.

What do I do?

Come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are going with him to court less your accuser. Is he that's the newest pay attention here. Let's your accuser and you over to the Georgian the George to the guard and you be put in prison.

When you have a problem with people you just putting yourself in unnecessary prison. And you know that when something is not right with somebody while they don't even think about it, but you do.

Any witness here?

You know when you have a problem with somebody you never feels right if you are Christian, you know, it never feels right whether you initiated the problem or you did not.

Yes after you've done your steps, okay to reconcile if that doesn't work then God sets you free as we will see in for the scripture. But God is telling us we need to be Ministers of Peace. It says truly truly. I say to you you will never get out until you have paid the last when it's kind of like that. It's an 8th until you reconcile. You will still be in that jail that you have put yourself into.

Does that make sense?

Whatever you refuse to be reconciled with people with their problems what they've done to you you refuse to forgive. I know there are times you cannot reconcile because the person just moved to make it impossible to reconcile but romance tells us as far as it depends on you. Leave peaceably with everyone with all so what God calls us is to do our part if possible. It's right here. I didn't even know I put it on there as far as it depends on you live peaceably with all that's Romans 12:18. So write this down be reconciled with everyone that you know that you have wrong or who has wronged you but you know that it is in our house. We put ourselves into a terrible prison when we refuse to be reconciled as far as it depends on you. You need to live at peace with everyone.

I love the way that Warren wiersbe puts it. The person refuses to forgive his brother. Pay attention to this. Destroys the very bridge over which he himself must walk.

That makes sense. The one who refuses to forgive his brother or sister destroys the very bridge over which he himself must walk. We going to need forgiveness one day to write.

We'll talk more about that in chapter 6. Look up Matthew 18 verse 15 to 20. If your brother sins against you. This is the way you do it if your brother sins against you go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. You confront one-on-one when you have a problem with someone or you know that they have a problem against you if you listens to you, you have gained your brother done problem-solve. Next step if they don't listen verse 16, but if he does not listen take one or two others along with you that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three Witnesses. Hey, I'm sorry I offended you you didn't listen to bring somebody with me. I'm sorry. Can we make this right? I heard that you said this about me you have this problem against me K. Can we discuss it over with somebody present than can? We work this things out. Did the Second Step they still don't listen and it says if he refuses to listen to them, that means you and that witness tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church tell him. Let him be to you as a gentile and a tax collector. So you're saying somebody refuses to forgive. You should treat them as an unbeliever.

This is not Jose says word. This is from our sponsor the Bible birthday team truly I say to you whatever you bind on Earth shall be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on Earth shall be loosed in heaven again. I say to you if two of you agree on Earth about anything they ask it will be done for them by my Father in heaven for where two or three are gathered in my name there. Am I among you so God is calling us a b reconcile be reconciled give it up forgive. When you refuse to forgive you putting yourself in prison. And guess what you get to hear more about that and just at 6 so I can leave you alone today. Remember one with be the person refuses to forgive his brother destroy the very bridge over which he himself must walk all of us at some point in our life. Needed to be forgiven and will need to be forgiven again and all of us at some point had to reconcile with someone at some point. We had to be the bigger person. Don't what somebody else has to be the bigger person for us where we need to be reconciled with others because God gives us the ministry of reconciliation in 2nd Corinthians. 5:18. 220. What does it say? Oh, this is from God woofloo Christ did what? Reconcile us to himself that Jesus ministry and gave us the what?

That is in Christ. God was reconciling the world to himself not counting the trespasses against them. That's what God did for you and you know, you don't want to forgive others. Remember coming back in chapter 6. So if you don't get it this time to going to get it again. That is in Christ. Call Jen. Got your special. That's your brother looking at up to six. Is it really coming? I've got to come back again counting their trespasses against them and interesting to the ministry of reconciliation is the ministry and the message of reconciliation. Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ. God making his appeal. We employ you begging you on behalf of Christ be reconciled to God and by extension be reconciled to your fellow brothers because you can say you love God and not love your brother. Verse 21 for our sake he made him to be send who knew no sin Jesus. Is there no sense, but he became sin for you and from Maine so that Jesus can put that bridge or we can make it from here onto Evans so that in him we might become. The righteousness of God God calls us to a righteous life not a religious life, but God calls us to a righteous life is the message in a nutshell the Christian Life. Is that a life based on outward appearance religion? But it is a matter of the heart relationship sinful anger refusal to forgive and making peace with others come with a steep price.

and Country to the Christian Life As a Believer, you don't want to be living in a prison of your own making. Because it is for Freedom that Christ died for us. Amen. Let's walk in that freedom father. Thank you for your grace. May you said all of us free today? We know of other people have done us wrong all of us here. No matter how old we are. We have had experience with people. We'll have that all kinds of things to us. They have run. They have hurt us deeply.

But despite their action.

You still call us? The righteous anger you still call us to forgiveness. We still call us to be reconcile. You still call us to be reconciled.

To bother if there's anybody in our heart today.

That we touring with anger. That we letting it grow and turn into bitterness and resentment and Hate. and even the ultimates

murder that Deborah murdered them directly, but we just wish to deal with Dad.

Are you free us from this prison? Oh God.

But you helped us to learn to overlook an offense. No matter how deep. That it penetrates our heart. No matter how are strongly that it hurts? No matter how strongly that we feel about that hurt.

Help us to remember what you have done for us.

Was for the joy of the Cross you died for us not counting our sins.

But you became the very thin glass.

if we were worthy to die for

Everyone is made in your image, even when they not reflecting it.

So father help us.

To be your emails bear as well.

We love you and we praise you. May you help us look God to live in Victory. May you help us to live the righteous life today. the life that is real the life that you have called us to Kingdom Life

and everyone says amen. Amen. What are three sing the last song together?
