Plural Noun Proposition: In 1 John 5:18-21, John makes known to you, three beautiful benefits of knowing the Son of God. Do you know him? The three benefits are: Protection, Separation, and Salvation.
First Benefit: You Know That God Shields You From the Evil One v.18
18 We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.
You Have Been Born Again (From God)
Your Savior Protects You From the Evil One
Second Benefit: You Know That God Sets You Apart From the World v.19

You Lie in the Power of the Holy Spirit (Rom 8:16)
You No Longer Lie in the Power of the Evil One
Third Benefit: You Know That God Saves You With Truth From the Son v.20-21
20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. 21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
Your Savior Gives You Knowledge of What’s True
Dr. Anandkumar said at Bermuda [in January 1978]: “A Hindu will never admit that he needs a Saviour. Not because he doesn’t acknowledge he’s a sinner, but because he believes he can save himself—by Karma, by bhakti (devotion, dedication and duty to God) and by ceremonial washing. Vivekananda said ‘it’s a sin to call a man a sinner.’ ”
The disbelief of the apostle is the means of furnishing us with a full and satisfactory demonstration of the resurrection of our Lord. Throughout the divine dispensations every doctrine and every important truth is gradually revealed; and here we have a conspicuous instance of this progressive system. An angel first declares the glorious event; the empty sepulchre confirms the women’s report. Christ’s appearance to Mary Magdalene showed that he was alive; that to the disciples at Emmaus proved that it was at least the spirit of Christ; that to the eleven showed the reality of his body; and the conviction given to St. Thomas proved it the self-same body that had been crucified. Incredulity itself is satisfied; and the convinced apostle exclaims in the joy of his heart, “My Lord and my God!”
