Intro

Wives and Husbands

wives are called to submit and respect

men are called to love and preserve

they are distinct and valuable

the average man wants something different from a relationship than the average woman

two becoming one thing, looking for someone you can live your entire life as a part of

Children and Parents

obey and honor

live and act in such a way that people think good of your name

you can’t control what family you are born into

you can’t control the way you are treated or the opportunities you are given

but you can control the good that you do

you can control the way that you act toward them and others regardless

parents are called to not cause their to be any reason for the child not to live to bring honor to their name

Slaves and Masters

serve people as though you would serve Christ

Masters of people treat those people the way they would treat you

serve and do good on both sides as if you were serving the LORD and as if he were the one serving you

God is the master over all of us and he looks on both ends of all of these with equal unending love

Application

every one an illustration of the relationship between God and the church

how you should feel interacting with your God

you make yourself lesser for the sake of the other in every situation

the other is always considered first and more important
