Introduction

The sanctity of marriage is God’s creation of a holy covenantal one flesh union between a man and a woman, that last until death separates them, reflects the covenant-keeping love between Christ and His church, and is a representation of the way Christ loves His church and how He expects the church to love Him.

Five Truths of the Sanctity of Marriage

Marriage is God’s holy creation (Gen 1:27; 2:22-24;Matthew 19:4; 1 Cor 11:11-12).

Created for Holy Companionship (Gen 2:18; 2:20-22; 3:12; Proverbs 31:10-12)

Created for Rearing Children (Genesis 1:28; Mal 2:15; 1 Cor 7:14)

Marriage is a holy one-flesh union between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:22-24)
