Systematic Theology: An Introduction to Biblical Doctrine (Second Edition) A. Scriptural Evidence for Adoption
adoption is an act of God whereby he makes us members of his family.
No matter what type of earthly family or relationships you have, believers have a heavenly father who loves and cares for them
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,
for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.
he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,
Benefits of Adoption
Relationship
Love of God
Care of God
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
Children of God

Suffering
Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.
Glorification
See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

If you want to judge how well a person understands Christianity, find out how much he makes of the thought of being God’s child, and having God as his Father.
