LIFE CHANGING TESTIMONY

John 4:39–42 NKJV

And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.” So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. And many more believed because of His own word. Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

Main Idea: A simple testimony can have an eternal impact.

1. A simple testimony bears repeating. (v. 39)

John 4:39 NKJV

And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.”

A simple, brief testimony made an eternal impact.

She just shared with those around her.

Mark 5:19–20 NKJV

However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, “Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.” And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him; and all marveled.

Acts 4:20 NKJV

For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”

2. A simple testimony bears fruit. (v. 40-42)

John 4:40–42 NKJV

So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. And many more believed because of His own word. Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

Her story gave immediate fruit.

Her testimony gave delayed fruit.

Her testimony continues to give fruit today.
