Open With Talking About G. Brown being a Believer. How he believed in his students and How he believed in the football team.
In this life growing up rather it be a parent, teacher, older sibling, or relative. We have all been taught to believe in something. We believed in the tooth fairy, We believed in Santa Clause , We believed in people but they let us down, We believed in our sports teams and they let us down We even believed in our family and found out that they will let you down as well.
However this evening I want to talk to you briefly on someone who you can believe in and He won’t let you down.
In our Text we see Jesus talking to Martha. Jesus Bestfriend Lazarus has just died and Martha heard that Jesus was in town. Martha comes up to jesus and I can see her now rolling her eyes and neck how us people do, saying Lord if you would’ve been here My brother wouldn’t have died. Jesus had got word that Lazarus was sick but he stayed where he was a little longer because he needed this to happen so that others might believe.
So the question on the floor is How do you respond and act When God the all wise, All knowing and All powerful God allows things to happen in your Life so that Others might believe?
It’s a tough Place to be in but Even when God allows situations to happen that don’t look good in our eyes. We still have to trust him we still have to believe in him. We do this because God is too wise to make a mistake and the bible tells us That All things Work together for the Good of them Who Love the Lord and are Called according to his Purpose.
So yes it may not seem good or feel good but God is Working it out for Your Good. He is Working The bad the ugly the indifferent, God is working it out For Your Good.
So the story continues. Jesus Tells Her Your Brother Will Rise Again. Martha Says Yes In the Last Day but Jesus Tells us Where we read our Text that he is the Resurrection and the Life.
I have one point for you tonight JHS Family.
My only point is Death in Not the End.
If We Look here at the Text it Says
John 11:25–26 NLT
Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?”
Jesus Says I am Life and Resureection and anyone who believes in me will Live even after dying.
In other Words if you are a believer and you die death is not the end for you. The reason why it is not the end for you is because as a believer we have eternal life.
Charles Spurgeon simply put it Like this.
Those that believe in Jesus Christ appear to die, but yet they live. They are not in the grave, they are forever with the Lord. They are not unconscious they are with their Lord in Paradise. Death cannot kill a believer, it can only usher him into a freer form of life.”
So Brothers and sisters this does not mean we will not physically experience Death but Spiritually Death can’t have us if we Believe.
So Be encouraged to know that if you are a believer that Death is not the end life but it is start to something glorious.
All in all I ask you,
Do you believe that Jesus Died and God Raised him from the dead.
Do you believe that one of these days you are going Where the streets are paved with Gold
Do You believe you are going to Get a long white robe
Do you believe that you will be able to Join in with the Angels crying holy.
Do You believe that you are going where you savour is
Do you believe That you are going where the wicked will cease from troubling and the weary will be at rest.
