We been given Life | Freedom | Inheritance | Saved by Faith - However | With great power comes great responsability.
His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,
Given everything to reflect Christ | Walk in a manner worthy of Calling.
Created, Equipped, Called to be a Giver.
You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.

Looking at everything God has given us, and what we are called to Give.

Hang out in 2nd Peter today | Look at what God asks us to give in response to everything He has given.

Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
Servant = Doulos = Bond Servant.
Peter Gave himself to Jesus.
Joshua: What does Lord say to his Servant.
Why? Because He had an experience with risen Jesus.

Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,
Paul Gave Himself to Jesus | It’s the mark of a Christian.
For he who was called in the Lord as a bondservant is a freedman of the Lord. Likewise he who was free when called is a bondservant of Christ.
We give ourselves to Jesus in response to what Jesus has given to us
That’s what happens at Salvation | Give our Hearts to JEsus.
We aren’t a servant because we have been forcefully bound | Freely give ourselves over as Jesus did - FIRST

We can give God our Trust based on who He is.

People getting baptised today because they know Jesus | Submission follows meeting Jesus.
You can GIVE your TRUST to JESUS.

by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.
What is He saying here?
Could have given you just forgiveness - but didn’t stop there;
God Has given you everything you need to give Him your Obedience
Through His promises, become partakers of Divine Nature;
For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
Not forgiven broken humans | Now Sons (Not boys, means first born)
Learning to reflect Gods nature is one thing | learning to walk it out is what makes you a giver.
We can give God our Obedience becasue He has given us everything we need to follow Him.
Question: Where is God asking you to be obedient?
First thing after saalvation?
Baptism.
That is what we celebrate today - Let’s talk about it.

Baby Baptism, not in the New Testament
Baptism = Baptizo = 77 Times (Number of completion) - Immerse.
Purpose = Public Declaration of Christ - Illustration of what Happened to you in Christ and it’s obedience to Christ.
Jesus got baptised.
Remember story;
John would have prevented him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented.
How did Jesus fulfill all Rightousness? By dying on cross - What ever baptism is, it’s symbolic of His death and resurrection;
I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how great is my distress until it is accomplished!
Interesting choice of Words - why not “I have a death to undergo” ? Becasue His death and resurrection is going to be reflected in Baptisms.
My death will fulfill all rightousness, so this baptism is going to be a symbol of that.
having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead.
As you go down - Symbol of dying to your old self - As you come up, you join Him in resurrection as New Creation.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Baptism is first thing He asks us to do | When saved - baptised.
Baptism does not save you |Grace through Faith saves you but it does demonstrate your willingness to follow Jesus.
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
When should you be baptised? Right away!!! We do a catch up etc. but don’t need it.
But when they believed Philip as he preached good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
Listen; When you Obey God - it is profoundly powerful in what it does in your life.
God is first - God gets first
I’m going to GIVE my first act after my salvation to Lord - He gave you LIFE and He wants you to give Him your FIRST ACTION.
Remember what happened to Jesus after Baptism;
And a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”
Before anything - Beloved.
Today, for those coming up out of the water- There will be a sense of the pleasure of Heaven and Joy of the Lord.
God gave us His first and only Son, so we give Him our first and every action.
This series, we posture ourselves as a Giver because of what Christ has already given.
We give ourselves to Jesus in response to what Jesus has given to us
2. We can give God our Trust based on who He is.
3. We can give God our Obedience becasue He has given us everything we need to follow Him.
We are givers.
You had to give nothing for your salvation but now that you are saved you have everyhing to give.
