“Evangelism” and summer outreach

Simplicity and power

What is the gospel? Romans Road

Romans 3:23 “23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”
Romans 6:23 “23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 5:8 “8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 10:9–10 “9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
(First nations version) v10 For trusting comes from the heart and leads to good standing. Then the mouth says what the heart believes, which takes us down the path of being set free and made whole.
Romans 10:13 “13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.””

What is the gospel? 3 circles

We all come from the same place (far from God), we all need the same thing (a faith in the work of Christ that produces obedience), and if we have that faith we are all going to the same place (an eternal sacred family with Christ as our head)
Walking with God, walked away from God, invited back by Christ
Made for a purpose, made choices that took us off the path, Christ restores our purpose
Made to be at peace with God, we rebelled, Christ reconciled our relationship

Testimony

“Your testimony is not the gospel” Ok, God saves but who did he save? (Hold mouth closed)
The gospel isn’t just about what God did but what He’s doing
I used to be depressed, then I met Jesus, He forgave me of my sins, now I walk with God and every day I wake up with joy.
