Care against heresy
Colossians 2:9 NKJV
9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;
Jesus did not shed Himself of His divine nature, heresy - THE MAJESTY and WONDER of the INCARNATION - The MIRACLE OF MIRACLES
Bible scholars and authors James Ussher and Mark Jones:
“The Incarnation is the highest pitch of God’s wisdom, goodness, power and glory.” (James Ussher)
“The incarnation is God’s greatest wonder, one that no creature could ever have imagined… It has been justly called the miracle of miracles.” (Mark Jones)
Jesus did not think of Himself, He thought so much of others.
“He did not use His privileges for Himself, but laid them aside so that He might help others, no matter what the price may be.
Privilege over Responsibility
Relationships in the workplace or in businesses are transactional.
It is easy to get expected results from people who take responsibility. People in the workplace perform well in their jobs if they feel it is their responsibility to do so. Having responsible people is a good thing.
But even better are people who see what was given them as a privilege. Thankful people.
What if they are given actual privileges to lead others? How will they use that privilege? Will they use the privilege to promote themselves or to help others?
THE LORD JESUS USED HIS PRIVILEGES FOR THE SAKE OF OTHERS.
In being the Greatest Example of Humility, Jesus…
Served Others
Philippians 2:7 NKJV
7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.
The form of a bondservant - lowest form

The Lord’s Transitions in Humility:
From Heaven to Earth
From Glory to Shame
From Master to Servant
Matthew 20:28 NKJV
28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
He washed our feet
There are around 59 one another commands in the New Testament. Love, Encourage, Bear.
In being the Greatest Example of Humility, Jesus:
Sacrificed Himself
It may be easy to serve it it doesn’t cost us much.
Philippians 2:8 NKJV
8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
The Lord’s Transitions in Humility:
From Heaven to Earth
From Glory to Shame
From Master to Servant
From Life to Death
No better example of humiliation and a selfless attitude for believers to follow could possibly be given than that of Christ.
“Became obedient to the point of death”
How far will our obedience take us? (talk)
In being our greatest example of humility, the Lord Jesus:
Submitted to God.
Philippians 2:9 NKJV
9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
Therefore - what it is there for.
An eternal transaction:
Hebrews 10:5–7 NKJV
5 Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me. 6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. 7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come— In the volume of the book it is written of Me— To do Your will, O God.’ ”
Christ’s Humiliation led to His exaltation, which led to the glory of God.
In His exaltation, Jesus was given the Name Lord.
What do we takeaway from the example of Christ’s humility?
Paul started this passage with the words “let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus...”
Examples..
There’s an external threat because of false doctrine. (Philippians 3:1-3)
There’s an internal threat because of disunity or disagreements. (Philippians 4:1-3)
Philippians 4:2 NKJV
2 I implore Euodia and I implore Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord.
Euodia - Fragrance, Syntyche - with Faith
Philippians 2:3–4 NKJV
3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
Humility in Action:
What?
Esteem others better than ourselves.
Look out not only for our own interests, but also for the interests of others.
Humility in Action:
How?
Not through Selfish ambition or conceit
In Lowliness of Mind
Conceit - Vain pride; Pride without proper basis.
There’s exaltation in Humility.
1 Peter 5:6 NKJV
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
Philippians 2:10 NKJV
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
under the earth - are the lost
Philippians 2:11 NKJV
11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
All will bow down before Jesus and confess Him as Lord.
Some will bow to the Lord Jesus in glorification.
Many will to Him in condemnation.
But to bow to Him now means your salvation.
