Acknowledge Pastor , Acknowledge My pastor
Psalm 51:1–10 NLT
Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin. For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night. Against you, and you alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight. You will be proved right in what you say, and your judgment against me is just. For I was born a sinner— yes, from the moment my mother conceived me. But you desire honesty from the womb, teaching me wisdom even there. Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Oh, give me back my joy again; you have broken me— now let me rejoice. Don’t keep looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.
Romans 12:1–2 NLT
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
How Do I Change .
Steve Jobs cofounded Apple in his parents’ garage in 1976, was ousted in 1985, returned to rescue it from near bankruptcy in 1997, and by the time he died, in October 2011, had built it into the world’s most valuable company.
Apple had had a string of hits over the past dozen years that was greater than that of any other innovative company in modern times: iMac, iPod, iPod nano, iTunes Store, Apple Stores, MacBook, iPhone, iPad, App Store, OS X Lion—not to mention every Pixar film.
How did he do it?.
Focus
When Jobs returned to Apple in 1997, it was producing a random array of computers and peripherals, including a dozen different versions of the Macintosh. After a few weeks of product review sessions, he’d finally had enough. “Stop!” he shouted. “This is crazy.” He grabbed a Magic Marker, padded in his bare feet to a whiteboard, and drew a two-by-two grid. “Here’s what we need,” he declared. Atop the two columns, he wrote “Consumer” and “Pro.” He labeled the two rows “Desktop” and “Portable.” Their job, he told his team members, was to focus on four great products, one for each quadrant. All other products should be canceled.
He made a change to their business operating model. Instead of making several different computer, the focus was on four. The key was simplicity. They eliminated unnecessary components and streamlined services. They built an ecosystem of products that are integrated and simple to use.
Apple also transformed the music industry with the
creation of ITunes.
His change to break away from the norm of expanding products a narrow focus has made Apple one of the greatest companies worldwide.
Brothers and sisters we have all made changes before. Rather the changes are good or bad we have made changes in our life. The reason why we make changes is because sometimes things might not be the way we want. Sometimes we make changes for the better of our selves. With us making these changes I found out something in my short time of living. Some people will like you for your change and some will not.
Howe
There will be times in our lives where we know we need to change and Don’t want to change. And that might be someone under the sound of my voice today. We know that we need to change but we are choosing not to. Not only that what we know how to change but we refuse to do it.
So I began to ponder and think about why is it that we know how to change and are refusing to change. Cause we see it in the church so much we have christians that come in Sunday after Sunday hearing the word taking notes, singing in the choir,……. They are doing all these things but still refusing to change.
Well I sent the Lord an Email. And he emailed back and said The reason why this is happening is because they are full of themselves and prideful. Its a bad place to be in when you know what to do but won’t do it because you are full of pride. Full of Arrogance. Full of ourself and letting us get in the way and trying to make decisions on our own instead of Letting God be God.
We see this so much in the church and I got to come for us men because we are head and it starts with us.
Lets be real men we can be some of the most stubborn people and full ourselves and full of pride where we will know how to change but because we as a man we think we so big time we will stay in a repeated cycle of going through and suffering because of our pride has got in the way.
We Can’t let pride get in the way because the bible speaks to us about being prideful.
The bible tells us in James 4:6
James 4:6 NLT
And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
So Men we cannot be prideful we must remain humble because as the head if they see us full of pride its only going to trinkle down to who is under us.
So instead of being full of oursleved we need to be Full of the Word so we can do what it teaches us. We have to remain humble. The text just told is that if you are humble he gives grace to those.
Humble yourself. If you want to excell and go Higher humble yourself because the way up is to come down. Always remember to let your highest point be at Jesus feet.
Now we see in our Lesson today it shows us some things we need to do in order to change. What better person to talk about today who will help us with know what to do and how to change.
David here is writing a psalm her and just to give you some background on why he is writing this psalm is because he is suffering and going through a trying time. He is going through this tough time because the Prophet nathan had just come to him told him about the wrong he did with sleeping with another mans wife and getting her pregnant and having the husband killed. David is here now and he begins to write this psalm.
From within this psalm I believe its 3 things that will help us what we must do to change.
The bible says in psalms 51 Verses 1-3 I see David doing something here. He comes to the Lord and he Simply open us with Have Mercy upon me O God. That should be the way we start some of our prayers because if the truth be told we know that we have done some thinngs and we should’ve been taken out But God had Mercy upon and didn’t take you out. But the text goes on and he says something in verse 3 where i want to pull my first point and that is We must Confess What we have Done.
Many times in life we don’t like to confess our wrong we confess everything else but when it comes to confessing when we are wrong we don’t like to do it. I found out though confession is good and gives you a sense of being free.
Thats why the Bible tells us if we confess our sins our and he is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
We got to learn how to confess…
My Second point is that We got to be committed to the cleanse In this life we got to be cleanse
When you are cleansed naturally you are cleansing yourself to get all the toxins and impurities out your body .
every once and a while we need to cleansed spirtually to get all those bad toxins out of us.
When is the the last time you been cleansed
The old saints would simply say in their prayers whatever is in me that’s not like you take it out simply they were saying cleanse me oh God
Peter Analogy
Finally we got to be in Constant renewal
