THE CHURCH SHOPPING LIST
Do they have a coffee shop with a Christian name?
Is the building nice?
Is it too big or too small?
Is the pastor young or old?
Is the music good?
Are the people nice?
Is there anywhere to sit?
Is there anyone like us here?
Do they have a youth/children program?
How do they dress?
Why would people have a shopping list for churches? (they are customers)
Sometime we never leave that customer mentality.
when in reality after we know Christ and join a church, we are supposed to switch from customers to workers.
If our product is CHRIST and you receive HIM and HE never expires or stop working, you are no longer a customer.
1 Peter 4:7–11 CSB
The end of all things is near; therefore, be alert and sober-minded for prayer. Above all, maintain constant love for one another, since love covers a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without complaining. Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve others, as good stewards of the varied grace of God. If anyone speaks, let it be as one who speaks God’s words; if anyone serves, let it be from the strength God provides, so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
“be alert and sober-minded for prayer”
Why would someone need to be alert and sober? Ready for battle.
Having a different mindset now! 1 Peter 4:3 “For there has already been enough time spent in doing what the Gentiles choose to do: carrying on in unrestrained behavior, evil desires, drunkenness, orgies, carousing, and lawless idolatry.”
Matthew 22:39 “The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.”
1 Peter 4:9–10 “Be hospitable to one another without complaining. Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve others, as good stewards of the varied grace of God.”
