Illustration of a JOURNEY

Thank you guys for being here tonight. If we don’t know each other, again, I am Evan and my wife Jenna is here, we have 2 kids- Eden and Ezra. We are originally from Tampa FL and moved here 4 years ago! But I actually grew up coming to NC every summer with some of my family. We stayed in Highlands NC and would explore the mountains surrounding that little town. There were awesome mountains with waterfalls and beautiful views of all the surrounding states that border western NC. There’s something unique about hiking though, when you go on longer and more secluded trails, sometimes you can’t see the path you’re supposed to be on and you just have to keep pushing forward. Those are the trails I love most though. Where you don’t really know where you’re at, you have an idea of where you’re going but you just get to be lost in the woods and keep walking towards the finish. It’s a journey through the the beautiful landscape of the mountains and the best part of the journey is often when you get lost and find incredible things along the way.
We once tried to find a place called granite city. It was supposedly an incredible place to climb rocks and explore caves. PERFECT! But we dind’t get any directions or find
There’s an author M. Robert Mulholland who calls the Christian life an invitation to a journey.
I love this picture because it’s true and accurate. IT’s not a religion with a bunch of rules, Christianity is an invitation from God to stop aimlessly wandering in this world, and come with Him through Jesus on a journey to become the people he designed and desires us to be!
So, tonight I want to share that invitation with you and ask us all to take our next step in our journey with Jesus. Whether it’s your first step with Jesus or your next step of many before.

The Gospel:

First, we have to know what the invitation is to begin with.
But remember, if you already have said yes to the Gospel, salvation isn’t the destination, it’s the beginning of a journey. We are invited into a new life to begin living and growing in with Jesus as our new guide through life.
