Congratulations graduates,
Class of 2024, you have made it, at least through the first 13 years of school. This is a great accomplishment and one to be proud of, however I am going to tell you as I will be telling the confirmation students next week, that this is not everything, this is only the beginning. Graduating high school is the foundation you will need to succeed in the rest of your life. This is just the start for you, God has given you life, instilled in your parents faithfulness to bring you through to this point, bringing you to church to get the other half of what you need to succeed and now it is left in you where you go from here. I pray that you remember your baptism, remember the promise you made at your confirmation, and that you will carry through, stay strong in the faith, continue to read the word of God, you have no excuses now that we have given you new Bibles. Now whether you go on to college, trade school or choose to enter the workforce, know this that God will carry you through, keep the faith, know that the only one who loves you more than you parents is the one who bled and died for you, Jesus Christ.
Now I will leave you with the verse I wrote in each of your bibles Philippians 1:6
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Know that wherever you go, what ever you do, you will never be far from Jesus, for he is with you and will direct your paths. As we the church pray for you, we are proud of you and know that you will do well.
