Fear is constant in our world.

Fear is not necessarily a bad thing. It can be very beneficial. However, I am observing that fear is becoming greater and greater in our world to the point that others are trying to use it for their own gain.

Our fears can reveal our needs.

Fear can be a tool that is used to help us know what our needs are and meet those needs in a healthy Christ honoring manner.

Our world wants us to compare ourselves to others.

This may not necessarily be a bad thing but if left unchecked we can either go towards despair or triumph when neither is reality or necessary.

Big Truth: Jesus is faithful!

If there is nothing else you hear this morning, through all our worship, it is this: Jesus is faithful!
Mark 9:1 MSG
Then he drove it home by saying, “This isn’t pie in the sky by and by. Some of you who are standing here are going to see it happen, see the kingdom of God arrive in full force.”

All of Scripture points to Jesus.

The whole OT is moving towards the point of the cross and Jesus. We cannot, we must not miss this truth.

Jesus stands alone!

I could have asked this morning, “where does Jesus rank?” It is not a bad question but I wonder if we go down this path we may end up in a dead end or lost in the woods of life. The issue with the question is that we can feel like we can quantify Jesus or put him in a “safe spot” and nothing else matter.

Action Item: Hear and listen to Jesus.

This is the point of our passage. Because of who Jesus is we must hear his voice and live out his voice. But how?

Engage the Bible.

Read. Study. Meditate. Learn. Listen to.

Engage God in prayer.

Speak. Listen. Join in others.

Engage God’s family—the Church.

Gather. Share life outside of “church”.

Jesus is faithful, He will do what He says He will do.

We can do this because of who Jesus is!
