The Door
The Door
John 10:9-11
9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.
· Doors are for access!
· Notice that Jesus said, “If.” This tells us that He is not forcing. We all have free will!
· Jesus said, If we enter by Him, we will have the ability to go out.
· Once we enter through Jesus, We will be able to go out and find pasture
· Once we enter, we have shelter and Pasture for nourishment and refreshing.
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
· In verse ten, Jesus mentioned the thief, who wants to steal, kill, and destroy.
· When we enter into the door of What Jesus brought, satan’s drive to want to kill you becomes elevated because now, you are beginning to know who you are.
11“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.
· We enter through Jesus for Shelter, Nourishment, Refreshment, and Protection.
· How does a good shepherd offer Protection?
· Think about David: 1 Samuel 17:34-36
· 34 But David said to Saul, “Your servant was tending his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and took a sheep from the flock, 35 I went out after it and attacked it, and rescued the sheep from its mouth; and when it rose up against me, I grabbed it by its mane and struck it and killed it. 36 Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, since he has defied the armies of the living God.”
John 14:3-6
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
· Jesus did not say, He is the place!
· Jesus said, I will come and bring you to where I am.
· Jesus was talking about after the resurrection, not at the end of the time.
4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
· Jesus is the Way to the Truth that gives you life.
· Jesus is the Door, and you can only get to the Father through that door.
· The Way: Jesus wanted to reassure the disciples that He is the way, the disciples were becoming nervous and did not envision a life without Jesus.
· The Truth: Jesus is the perfect revelation and manifestation of God the Father. Jesus shows us what we should do as children of God, and what they should be.
· The Life: Not only in the future but right now!
· To the Father: The end of the way! The ultimate Goal is to be fully engulfed in the presence of God!
So, How do we get to the door???
1. Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
· Jesus already tells us that We will have Protection, Shelter, Nourishment, and Refreshing once we enter the door. Now He is telling us while we are seeking, all the things we need will be provided
John 14:20
20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.
· When we finally enter through the door, this happens.
· Jesus is in the Father, We are in Him, and He is in us.
· Jesus is sitting on the right hand of the Father in Heaven.
· We are in Jesus while he is sitting at the Right hand of the Father.
· Jesus is in us, Right now, in the earth.
· We dwell in two realms at the same time, however, we must seek the door, find the door and enter into the door.
