Extremely Strong, Incredibly Fragile
Good morning, everyone.
Yeah, this morning is going to be a little bit different.
We got kids got Peter Cooper in here. We got Ruby in here. Lance, you're like 30, what are you doing? And you're always
We are we are going to wear actually been talking to Wendy and Kelly. We're actually going to have more services like as time goes on. We have more the kids in here, more and more. We have John's parents.
And then like everybody else is gone Memorial Day weekend. But we're going to do a different type of sermon this morning so like just buckle and it's going to be a little stranger. We are. it's just been, it's just been kind of Different times. Like like things if things have happened over the last few months I don't know. I don't know. Even know how to describe it. You know, you know, the last week I was gone and my dad on my Grandpa's funeral and I'm, you know, it's been kind of an emotional roller coaster. I was here, I was standing on the stage. When I found out he died.
And so it's been kind of a crazy time. I feel like the last four years being here with you have been a very interesting time for me personally, like just add just a journey and I'm glad. I'm so glad that I was with you guys and the people who are going to be listening to this because you listen to sermons when you're out of town. And so I've been with you and you've been with me through good times and bad. And the we've gotten to witness just what it's like to be a human together and so today's lesson is called extremely strong, incredibly fragile. And we're going to, we're going to talk about what it just, what it means to be a person. What it means to be a human being, and so, if you are listening on cuz we hit, WE Post these. If you're listening on Apple podcasts, which is none of you because you're here, but if your listing on Apple podcast, I would encourage you to go to our website or Facebook because you get to see all the slides cuz today is going to be very picture heavy. And so, if you're just listening, you're going to be like I don't get it.
I specifically use the word fragile and some of you Might even bristle at the word fragile. You like don't call me fragile. And that's because, fragile equals week and, and it's the week is the opposite of strong and you don't if someone were to call you weak, you're like, hey, don't call me weak. But literally, Paul says that when I'm weak, I'm strong and that's kind of what we're going to explore, but we'll get to that in a bit. I want to look at two guys in the New Testament. We're going to look at a lot of Bible, but we're going to tell a lot of stories to I'm going to try to move through pretty quick. These two guys in the Bible, Timothy and Titus. If you've never heard this before, this is going to be a little bit of an education when I can read all the stuff. But there are these two guys that were both kind of, like, students of Paul and all theologians kind of talk about these guys, Paul called both of them. His sons in the face and all fuel or just kind of agree that Timothy and Titus were very different guys. Timothy was kind of more like softer if you will not a bad way, but he was, he was a little gentler and this was like, I do. Bro. He was more like you suffer. It's always you just read some of the stuff like Titus was the way Paul talk to Titus was very direct. He was like I left you there to do some stuff. And he told Titus, like deal with those people. And he said don't put up with that stuff. And if you look at the last one, he literally just told Titus, don't let anyone despise you. you just said,
order the second one. Look at the second one. They must be silenced talking about false teachers, Paul. Just talk to Titus and he's just like deal with it. Timothy though, he talked to Todd Timothy with much softer tone. Timothy's. The one that he said, don't let anyone look down on you because you're young, you know, Timothy's. The one that he said don't drink this water. Use a little wine because of your stomach. Classically like Timothy's. The one that he was like, Hey you have tummy problems. You know, you're always sick, take care of yourself. Timothy. The one that he said, hey, remember, the spirit of God is Not of timidity, but of power. That's Timothy and so throughout history. We have labeled Titus as tough and Timothy as tender. And we're going to go with this and so in almost every Church there are tough titus's and tender Timothy's. And you might even be like, yes, I'm a tough Titus. Or you might be like, yes, I'm at end of Timothy. I like to be. I like to I like to pick myself up from my, by my bootstraps, I like to, I like to silence fools in the church that cuz I'm at of Titus. Or you might be like, yes. I like the people. I like people to encourage me. I like people to tell me to take care of my, you know, like people to take care of myself. I like people to tell me to drink wine because of my tummy. I'm A Tender Tennessee. It's over like and so churches can be a Timothy or a Titus, you know. But then I have a question. And so, and so, and what we're going to get to, at the end of this lesson, is this thing sometimes, even cause divisions in the church. Because sometimes tough titus's can look down on Tinder Timothy's, intend to Timothy's him sometimes. I think that tough titus's are a bunch of menes. But I have a question for you. Of these two of these two brothers, which one was a better or worse? Disciple of Jesus.
Which one was a better Church leader.
Neither, which one was a better friend to Paul? Was Titus a better friend to Paul and Timothy because in 2nd Timothy the last letter he wrote before he died, he said Timothy, please come to me. Timothy was probably the last person Paul reach out to them to me before I die.
The truth is that Timothy was also very tough. And Timothy and Titus was also very tender. So, to take to classify them like that is wrong. Let me, let me make it, let me make it very clear for you.
Tender Timothy was probably stronger and tougher than anyone sitting in this room. He was subject to an ancient type of life that the toughest person here would crumble if exposed to Despite having being subjected to frequent illnesses, he left his family and his native country to accompany, Paul in his ministry, including his poverty and his persecutions. He stood up for what he believed in as an old man. He was eventually beaten dragged through the streets and executed.
and yet we feel tough when we sign up for CrossFit classes,
Titus Titus, Titus.
Titus was also very tender. Titus was a church leader sent by Paul to deliver the letter that we know is 1st Corinthians. Which was an open rebuke in your like yet, we need tough Titus to go send this letter to Corinth. But even even stayed in Corinth to watch the church's response, he is a keen Observer of the hearts of men and women and then he's as he delivers the good news that we see in 2nd Corinthian. And this is what Paul says in 2nd Corinthians. But God Comforts, The downcast comforted Us by the coming of Titus and not only by his coming, but also by the comfort you had given him. He told us about your longing for me, your deep sorrow, your Ardent concern for me so that my joy was greater than ever. And then this is what Titus says to Paul earnestness. Eagerness to clear yourself, what indignation, what alarm, what long, and what concern? What Readiness to see Justice Done. These are the words of someone who is so emotionally intelligent that he can help walk an entire church back from the brink of Ruin and bring joy to his spiritual father in the faith. That's not tough, Titus liked of toilets.
The man who knows a thing or two about people and emotions. God Beauty and this is the point of this lesson. God's beauty is that he created something that is both. Remember last week fall talk to our Joel talked about beauty and creation, God, created something that is so beautiful in you and in all of us, that is extremely strong. Stronger than you think, and yet incredibly fragile. Probably more fragile than you think. And Humanity can be. Both. But it can't be all strong and some of some of the tough titus's think that being strong can fix all their problems and that's not true. And some of the tender Timothy's think that just staying in their feelings can solve all their problems and that's not true either. And that's what we're going to talk about today.
So I got a bunch of stories. I'm going to try to move to him real quick. Store. Number one, this guy's name is John Schneider. Does anybody know who John Schneider is Kelly? Who is John Schneider Cooper. You do not know who John Schneider is. I'll give you $100 right now. If you know, John Schneider is, John Schneider. Is Bo Duke from The Dukes of Hazzard? And this is back in 2013, I think. I dare not call him a friend, but he's an acquaintance were friends on Facebook, but a photographer by the name of Jeremy Cowart. Photograph took these photographs for a show on Oprah's network called called The Haves and Have Nots. And he was on there for like, I don't know how many season But even they were doing press press thing and Jeremy showed up and did all the the Press photos for for the show and he got the photograph most Bo Duke. John Schneider And I mean these photos this photo shoot. He did he did like this full thing for each actor and then he did the the full cast photos is like this like a whole day until he was with John for like a full hour and he did this whole thing of multiple multiple things like you see the one on the end with the hands I had to got another cast member to come in and do all these things and he's laughing and smiling and he's doing all these poses and all the stuff and he's and Jeremy's like I think we're good, I think we're good, we can move on and then and then John says he walks up to he walks up to Jeremy and he's like, he man. Could you do me a favor? I just need you to take some pictures for me. And Jeremy's like I thinking like headshot tiger like something. He's like, he's like I'm just going to I'm just going to stay in front of the camera. Can you just take some pictures for me? Not this to something else and Jeremy's like yeah. And he, he stands in front of the camera. And he calms down. And then something starts to happen and Jeremy, just documents it. And this is what happened.
It's a Jeremy's like stops shooting after a while and he's like something is something real is going on here? I don't know what's going on. So he puts a camera down. He walks over and he just gives John a hug. And John has gone through this pole, like range of emotions is crying. And he's like, And any gives him a big hug and then you just whisper in his ear and he's like, thanks, man. I just found out an hour ago that my dad just died. And I just needed to kind of get that out.
And Jeremy was blown away.
I felt very honored that John, let him witnessed all of that and spend like he opened up.
And he felt like these actor types were completely shut down and fake. And that emotions were just a tool. Used to make money on camera. But he felt like he got to witness something. Really got to witness something authentic. And then he said, man,
The strength of John's professionalism. As an actor, only showed itself to Jeremy after the fragility of John, the grieving son showed through in that moment. Because you look back through all those pictures you took smiling and every single one of those pictures, meant more. Because he was like, he knew his dad had just died but he was like I have a job to do and I have to be here for to feed my kids and wife and pay the mortgage on the stuff. And so then he after that was done. He said we good right now. I need to like, deal with what's going on inside of me. So it wasn't just all frail, emotional. But it wasn't all just button-up grit through. It was both at the same time. Does that make sense?
Has anyone ever heard of a prince Rupert's drop?
This is a prince Rupert's drop. It's a piece of glass that is molten. And then dropped into a bucket of water are pretty cool. I highly encourage you to check out the YouTube channel. Smartereveryday. Super cool Channel. It's just a piece of glass. And Dustin. He's the guy that runs the channel. Super cool guy. he makes her a prince Rupert's drop and then he puts it on an anvil and he tells the guy to bash it with a hammer, the guy goes, damn, and the thing goes and then he asked the guy Did you break it? And the guy goes, of course, I broke it. Look, it's a billion pieces and doesn't know what if I told you, you didn't break it. He's like, well, of course, I broke it look, I did it with a hammer and it's all over the floor. And Dustin says, what if I told you I can prove you did not break that thing. and they were filmed it on high speed and sure enough, the high-speed shows the hammer coming down Bouncing off the prince Rupert's drop and the prince Rupert's drop is fully intact. And then a little tail Wiggles snaps and then the whole thing shatters explodes doesn't shatter. Explodes. Here is high-speed footage on his channel. Check it out of a 38 caliber bullet. Shattering on the head of a prince Rupert's drop. So these things he's glass, things are bulletproof.
And he go he started like a different calibers and you just like went up until a bullet. Finally like you know it's like an AK round like finally was able to Break this thing. This thing is so strong, it's just glass. There's nothing special about except the way you make it, but it's just glass. But it's it's so strong is one of the strongest things you could ever met. But if you take just a pair of snips and you snap the tail, this is what happens, it explodes. It explodes into a countless number of shards of glass. It is extremely strong. And at the same time, incredibly fragile. And all I'm trying to get us to see is that there's a beauty in this and that same beauty is in every single, one of you. And that beauty is by Design, God's design. There is a strength that is almost incalculable in every single one of you. But there is a fragility that must be respected. One of the strongest man in the Bible Samson. I did not going to repeat it. You can go back and find it on our website, super strong, dude. And a lot of people they think that that is the one thing that defines them. They're like Samson, strong guy. That's his that's his thing.
Then they follow that up. If you had to Define, if you'd like to tell me about Samson, you're like strong gum, bad decisions. And yet I have a lot of sympathy for towards Samson. Go back and listen to the sermon. Cuz if you read the story of Samson, you will find you fell in love with a girl. He married that girl, and then he had to watch that girl be murdered.
And when I read the story Samson, I see a very fragile man. And he thought strength could solve all his problems, he didn't understand just how breakable he was.
Now, we read the Bible. Let me see these verses about strength. These are the first two songs. We song strength, And we read these verses. The Overcomers spirit all we need is strength. God will give us strength. We just need to overcome and these are all true. These are all valid. We just need to be strong. I mean, you're right, but And so I'm not trying to take away. I'm not, I don't want you to ever read these and go. Yeah. But been told me to like, put an Asterix by these UNS and discount them. That's not true. Don't discount these
And I'll give you these lists, like, you can read all these because remember, you are incredibly strong, you should read these and be inspired. Not. If you're a tender Timothy, these are the verses you should be reading.
But if you're at if you're a tough Titus, my guess is these are the verses that you are reading. And you're thinking that these are the verses that these are the only versus the count.
problem is, there's also all these verses about gentleness
Remember that God was not the Raging Fire or the earthquake. God was the gentle whisper. Remember that Jesus himself described himself as gentle. Remember that one of the fruits of the spirit is gentleness, remember all throughout the New Testament. It is a Biblical command to be gentle.
And then a fusion 6 fathers, do not exasperate your children.
The warning lights dad's you can mess your kids up. Be careful.
Gentlest tender Timothy's. These are the verses you're probably reading tough titus's. These are the verses you're probably not reading.
But this is the beauty of God's creation is that both of these things live inside of us and we need to respect both of them. I can't do one night, we had a movie night, we watched Arthur the King. This is the true story. I don't know if the true story is crueler than the movie or if they embellished it. But there's a speech that he gives Mark Wahlberg's character gives in the boardroom cuz remember this part. The guy's name was Michael Leonard and he gives this. He gives this speech in the boardroom when he's trying to get funding for his expedition. And this is what he says, he says, you know, my senior year in high school, I was cut from the football team. Three months later, I was cut from the basketball team and then the baseball tryouts with Coach told me, I was just wasting his time, so I left the field. But instead of going home, I started running around 15 miles in my baseball cleats and I wore them down to the souls 4 hours later. My feet were bleeding, and I had stress fractures in my shin, and I had to call my mom to come pick me up because I was lost the next day. I did it all again. And again the day after that, and you know what I learned, I learned that I could Embrace pain buckets of it. I learned that suffering is a skill and it I can suffer more than anyone and anything else. You want to know why race? Cuz I want to, I want to show people that I have what it takes to win. So you keep your money. I'll find another way. And then you'll know why I race. And you'll be hanging my picture right there on the center of that wall.
But we like movies where people win. What if they only win? We actually is not. There's no engagement, we don't care. We like movies where they lose, and then they win because it shows their fragility.
And there's a true story that shows that almost more than anyone else. This is a true. This is a real guy. And this guy's nuts people. If you want to look up this guy and watch some of these YouTube videos, he be careful. He doesn't have the cleanest language, but his name is Jeb Corliss and he is a wingsuit skydiver base jumper and He is a very interesting guy and he is like the manliest, man, and he like there's times when he first started out in his career, he talked about how like he just kind of put this image of like toughness. Then he reached a point after he broken a bunch of Bones and been in the hospital, a ton of times. We decided to just be very honest with people. And you decided I don't want to put forth an image anymore. I just want to be real and he told the story about how it all started. And it was because of a very troubling story. From his childhood, where he
very traumatic experience as a child and he tried to kill another kid in school and it was terrible is horrible. And it was from that very, very fragile state, that he was like, I need to find something to help me. And it kind of turned into this career. And even this sport of base jumping, he was like, this makes me feel so strong. And I got to be honest, I don't know which side of the screen is on. It's not this one.
He's flying 123 miles an hour. How much space is between him in the ground?
It looks like paper you know like couple inches, the reality is that shot is from when he hit the ground. And I caught the whole thing on film shattered. Almost every bone from here down. And it was a absolute disaster. It it reminded him of how fragile the human body is And he even talks about the illusion, like the false sense of safety, that that sport, gives the guys who do it. Cuz you, man, you feel like you can do anything until you Nick the ground and then it's all over it. So he hit the ground at 125 miles an hour and then it was just all done and isn't just in a pile of poop on the ground and he survived. And he talks about it now. But, but what's crazy is his like, everybody broke, but his GoPro survives and recorded the whole thing.
And it's just mind-blowing. And yet, even that was such a even that was such an interesting thing to me. I'm like the GoPro was so strong and recorded the whole thing. And yet, if you take a GoPro apart Josh Timberlake, Ask Josh Tabor, like, if you like, if you look at one of them, this soldering points inside a GoPro, just like separate it in the whole things like useless.
But that's what I told us. When we look at, when you crack, open the hood of your Whatever it is. Your psyche, your heart. You think you're so strong? But we have to respect that. We're actually quite fragile.
Here's another story in 1966.
Eddie walked into homeroom freshman year in Winnetka. Illinois and he found Mr. McClendon, big scary. Black man discussing. The current events with a room full of white kids. For the next four years, he would be his homeroom teacher.
Some of us, how many people remember, 1966? Pat and wet and Peter for the next four years, he would be his homeroom teacher through the Vietnam War riots, the first black Supreme Court Justice, the assassination of Martin Luther King, Robert Kennedy,
He was also the wrestling coach and he urged Eddie to join the wrestling team where Eddie lost every single match except the very last match for Eddie tied was a draw. Mr. McClendon pull them to the side. Look them in the eye shook his hand and he said very proud of you.
Twenty years later Eddie became Ed zwick, who directed the movie Glory.
Which we just watch. I just watched with, with Everett this week, cuz I, I hadn't, I don't know if I'd seen it since high school. How many of us watched the glory in high school? Some of us. It's not. It's like the movie watching. High School history class. Ed Ed that class with Mr. McClendon was so transformative with Mr. With Mr. McLennan. He did a screening back in Chicago, and he reached out to Mr. McLennan said, I want you to come to the screening. So he he at the screening Mr. McClendon was not as big not a scary anymore. But he sees them and he's like, tears, streaming down his face. and, He sees them and he hugs him.
And Glory went on to win like 14 Awards, three Oscars and all that. But Ed and his Memoirs says that that hug that hug at that. Screening meant more than every award. But that one
So, I just want to, I just want to brag about you guys for a little bit. I love this church.
Some of the most beautiful examples of God's creation in this church are brothers and sisters whose strengths are shown through their fragility. And I don't have time up. Some of them are not here cuz it's the holidays and what not? And I don't have time to go around in like, talk about everybody. But I do, I don't know if I've mentioned this publicly, but I do just want to say, I know the transition, four years ago was hard, it was hard for Pam and Newman. They were leading this church and then we came in. And I know that was very hard, but they stayed and Uma and Pam called Jen like every week and it was hard, but she was very vulnerable, and she was allowed herself to be very vulnerable with Jen. And they stayed, they continue to love you guys. And this church, that is strength.
I think, watching Kevin. And we all know that he had his stroke. That made him. That is demonstrated human fragility. But his life past that has demonstrated, what strength looks like.
I even think about John and Priyanka after the work, the Young. The work permit debacle. That was not a guy that was not easy. But I remember how they like, we're like, I'll make it work. They could have done a lot of pictures done. A lot of things and complain. Remind when I remember John even seem like I work in the cafeteria, I don't give it just a humility. It's probably because of his parents and just throw it like, work ethic. And I just like That was strengthened. In the timer for Jillian.
Katie Tabor. I know she's not here, but I know she might look like a soft tender young woman, but if you were to Shadow her for 2 months, it would end you.
You would not keep up with an OB Jen's residence schedule, physically or emotionally.
And I would say, if you were to ask Katie Gates, Jen Pat Lauren, who else Luke Katrina? Anyone who's had training in. What? How fragile? And yet strong, the human body is
They would tell you some stories. About how unbelievably strong and unbelievably fragile, Our God made us. We all know Ricardo the strong. Proud Mexican, man.
I am amazed when I walk. I'm in all of him in ways, mind works the mechanic and the way he works on cars.
I he doesn't need my sympathy, he doesn't need your sympathy, but I but watching, when he had his accident, and, But something else happened like neurologically that that has created some some pain that is like screw something. None of us can imagine and and there's something on the cellular level is so fragile. That is beyond comparison.
We are just so so strong and yet. So fragile.
They're not here but I have a story about Conor and Rena. There's, I got other stores. I just wanted I got to move on, but I just wanted to mention. I don't know if I've seen Josh. I hope I don't start crying. I don't know if I've seen a better example of strength showing through for jiloty than the stock you family. Kristen and Emma have overcome. But it doesn't always look like a hard fighting soldier on the battlefield. Sometimes it looks like Psalm 66 or David says all night long. I flood my bed with weeping and Drench my couch with tears.
That's still strength.
But we're so fragile.
We've laughed with. So many of you, we've cried with some of you we've witnessed, you work so hard and accomplishing things, you didn't think you were even capable of I got two more things I want to say before we finish because we're all ladylike way long. This is why I'm glad the kids are here so that Wendy and Kelly don't have to be in class. Do more things real quick. This is all this guy's name is Richard gadd. Don't look him up. He was comedian in in London, in England. Sorry he's Scottish. But he got famous because he was the victim of a stalking incident. And it went, we went crazy. But the problem is, when you reported it, everyone asking all these questions and he didn't know how to answer because because he He made it all these things that didn't make any sense. They be like, why did you wait so long? And he's like, I don't know. Like, why didn't you report it hurt like this? Why didn't you do this when she did this? Why did you do that? He's like, I don't know why did you let her do this to me? Like, I don't know. Turns out later they found out that he had also been the victim of some pretty bad abuson. And the trauma affected. Everything else? here's all I want to say, People don't make sense, guys. We're messy. We are as we are so messy. Messy creatures. And there's going to be times even in our small family, we love each other, we care about each other, but you're going to look at it. You're a tough Timothy. You're going to lick your attempt at Titus, you're going to look at it and you're going to be like, well obviously here's what you got to do and it's going to be clear as day. Step one, step, two, step three. And you're going to be confounded. Why do why do they not just do this? This
You know, the saying hurt people hurt people. Well, guess what hurt people? Confuse people hurt. People do crazy stuff. In the Bible is full of examples. I got just a few, there's a ton more Josiah. He was a good King who resisted, the pull of idolatry. You might know about the Josiah story or there's another Egypt comes walking in and Egypt didn't even pick a fight. Josiah was like paying you. You can't do that. And Josiah picks a fight with Egypt and its disasters. Ananias and Sapphira had no reason to lie about their offering their contribution and it ended in disaster. Raybone get tons of wise, advisers he ignored all of them and just consulted his Bros.
Jessica made one of the stupidest vows in the Bible. He said, if I'm Victorious, I will sacrifice the next thing that walks through that door.
What? God has a daughter. God didn't need that sacrifice at all. He killed his daughter. Peter had a literal Mountaintop experience with cheese. Transfiguration an idea? Why don't you quit your ministry? Don't help anybody else O'Neal. Don't feed anybody don't go to the Cross. Just stay here, will build a shelter.
Guys, I'm constantly reminded that the ministry, the church life in the Kingdom will be perplexing. Like Paul says, in 2nd Corinthians 4, It's not the only place where crazy stuff happens, but it is the place where you're not supposed to immediately. Push everyone away. You're supposed to call them brother and bring him closer.
In the world, you're allowed to curate all of your relationships. But in the church, you're supposed to keep pulling people closer. It's crazy. We have to get good at being perpetually perplexed. But the good news is that the promise of God won't leave us in a state of despair, but just remind yourself, man. People don't make sense.
Here's what I'm going to end, it divisions in the church. I said we were going to come here.
We got the tough in the tender.
And I can't tell you how many times I've seen this over the years.
It starts to like dividers.
The tough are acutely aware of their abilities, like this is what I'm good at and they even see another people. This is what you're good at. You should do that more. But the times are acutely aware of their emotions and they're actually aware of. Their lack of emotions.
The tough always have the temptation to neglect, their inner fragilities at feelings. But the tender are tempted to neglect their inner strength and resolve.
To my tough titus's in the room in those listening online. Your blind spot is that you're like that. GoPro, you seem indestructible on the outside. But you have these little solder points. and if those get snapped, you're useless and you don't realize that you got to respect those, you got to protect them. And what I don't want is for you to turn into, like I have a GoPro, that is just a shell of a GoPro. And it looks like a GoPro but it's not, it doesn't do anything. That a GoPro should do. I don't want the men in the church to turn into a shell of a man in the church.
To the tender Timothy's. Your blind spot is that there is a hidden corner of your heart with a reservoir of resilience grit and ability to overcome it's in there. The problem is that it's probably not going to be discovered through, like fun stuff or comfortable stuff. It's going to You'll eventually you'll Discover it, but it will only come out through really tough times.
Here's, here's if I could reduce what those two sides tell each other down to just two words, it's this.
The top 10, the top Titus is usually tell the tender Timothy's to man up. That's just that's a generalization, but that's what I was kind of the reductionist thing. It's never like overly expressed in the fellowship this way, but it's kind of constantly running in the background.
The tender Timothy's are kind of always have this feeling in the like, man, you're mean to me.
What is this is kind of the running in the background? Processes, like how in the world are we supposed to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace?
Ephesians 4:3. But here's the crazy part, I would like to say that that's a bunch of hogwash and this but that's not true. The problem is, that's actually true and it's they're both right sometimes.
Because we're going to end it.
The truth is a both sides of kind of, right?
Ender Timothy's. I'm not telling you to man up. But I do believe that you can grow into your strength potential.
I do believe the God's beautiful Creation in. You is not just tender and emotionally fragile. It is strong and powerful in Victorious. When you feel like someone is telling you to man up, try to give them the benefit of the doubt. Try to assume that they are not seeing weakness in you but seeing strength potential.
I'll be as a parent. I'm just telling your kids. This is usually what your parents are trying to say. Your parents are not talking down to you, they're trying to lift you up.
If anything, you could try to take it as a compliment, not as an offense.
To the top titus's.
You know, sometimes you do sound mean.
I don't know how hard to go into this.
I think. To the tough titus's. If you feel like, I think, you know, you know, that I like the nagging syndrome where it's like, oh, I told them what I believed, and it didn't listen. So I'll tell him again, but this time with more volume and aggression. And doesn't worship so like that, that only adds to this like division in the church. So we have to get good at.
Listening learning building these like preparing these bonds.
I think where I landed is the scripture in 1st Corinthians 12.
Paul says this talking about the church, the body of Christ. In fact, God has placed the parts of in the body. Every one of them just as he wanted them to be, if they were all one part, where would the body be as it is, there are many parts but one body the I cannot say to the hand, I don't need you in the head. Can I save if I don't need you. On the contrary those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable and the parts that we think are less honorable retreat with special honor and the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty while are presentable Parts. Need no special treatment, but God has put the body together giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it. So that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it, if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it now, you are the body of Christ and each one of you is a part of it. And that's what we need to do to get good at when, when one part is being honored, the other half of the church can't be like, they should not be being honored, I'm going to withhold my love and affection and when one part is being like Saturday morning, the other half can't be like, they should be, they should cheer up. We have to learn how to join with one another. Amen. Hey, that is what we're going to talk about. At this time, the kids have prize box today. Jen is going to do our communion and then we will Have one more song and and fellowship, Jen.
