A meek person doesn’t necessarily have to be a wallflower. You can be assertive and meek
In Jewish Hebrew contexts, meekness is synonymous with oppressed or a lack of power rather than a virtue. But here in the Greco-
Roman context the word Praus means humility and is often listed as a virtue of slaves and others who do not try to rise above their station.
Meekness is humility
It is important to be a person of strong character.
But only when you are affirming the Kingdom of Heaven
Put aside selfish conceits and do not be abusive
Do not Lord past wrongs over people through grudges
Because you have sinned too.
Meekness is gentleness
It is important to be a gentle person when possible.
It is so easy to be aggressive today
Aggression equals offense
Sometimes it’s important to be aggressive when your aggression is righteous
Meekness is a quiet spirit

I wanna talk about me, wanna talk about I, wanna talk about number one, oh my, me my. What I think, what I like, what I know, what I want, what I see.

It’s not all about us
We are told in this world that we must consider ourselves first but Jesus taught us the transformational truth that we are subject to HIM and we are not the stars of this show.
We can live like rulers now … or later. We have a choice.
James 5:1–6 “Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you. Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days. Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts. You have lived on the earth in luxury and in self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. You have condemned and murdered the righteous person. He does not resist you.”
But there is a future reward for the meek!
Psalm 37:11 “But the meek shall inherit the land and delight themselves in abundant peace.”
Revelation 22:14 ESV
Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates.
