Israel: Land Of Miracles Part 2
Last week I introduce on Pentecost Sunday a mini teaching about Israel; The land of miracles. Some may say why teach on this but what I wanted us to see is that when God makes a promise, He keeps a promise, and God has made some amazing promise to Israel and to us, so as we see scripture being fulfilled through the great nation of Israel, we can rest assured that God will keep His promise’s to us and even more.
Watch as we look at this covenant keeping God.
I’ve said many times, if you want to know, were we are in God prophetic time clock, look at Israel.
This little country, the size of New Jersey, stop’s the world in its track when something is going on there, and church family, much is going on there.
Remember this on the prophetic timepiece, Israel is God’s hour hand, Jerusalem is His minute hand and the Temple mount is the second hand.
On the Bunting map published in 1581, this is a historical illustration of the world. The three continents of the old world are shown divided by the seas, but connected by Jerusalem.
Jerusalem is set at the center of the world.

Why, Israel, Why Jerusalem?
It all began with a man called Abram and a covenant that God made with Him. God promised to bless Him and that this covenant would be and everlasting covenant.
Genesis 12:2–3 (NKJV) 2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Genesis 17:7–8 (NKJV) 7 And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.
8 Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”
Through Abraham 3 religions’ of the world have come, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. These three religions are followed by more than half the people on planet Earth.
Last week we saw that Israel was scattered throughout the world for 2000 years and yet on May 14th 1948, in one of the greatest miracle’s ever, Israel came back to their homeland. God’s word came true.
Now God has also made a covenant with someone else.
Matthew 26:26–28 (NKJV) 26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.”
27 Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you.
28 For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
And there is something very special in this covenant.
Hebrews 7:22 (NKJV)22 by so much more Jesus has become a surety of a better covenant.
Hebrews 8:6 (NKJV) 6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.
So we see that through Jesus we have a better covenant even than what Israel had and all the miracle’s that God did for them, that’s something to shout about.
So now let’s look at God keeping His word for Israel, this Land of Miracle’s.
When Israel was scattered around the world, the land died and even refused to give any crops.
Mark Twain in his travel’s said in 1867
[a] desolate country whose soil is rich enough, but is given over wholly to weeds-a silent mournful expanse....A desolation is here that not even imagination can grace with the pomp of life and action....We never saw a human being on the whole route....There was hardly a tree or a shrub anywhere. Even the olive and the cactus, those fast friends of the worthless soil, had almost deserted the country.”
Just like the Bible said:
Ezekiel 33:28–29 (NKJV) 28 For I will make the land most desolate, her arrogant strength shall cease, and the mountains of Israel shall be so desolate that no one will pass through.
29 Then they shall know that I am the Lord, when I have made the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed.” ’
But then God started to prepare the land for their return in 1948.
World War I, where God used the war to position Israel. Who knows, had the Jews willingly gone back to Israel then, they probably would not have suffered from the Holocaust, this was 1917.
In World War II, God was preparing Israel’s return to their land. 50 years after WWI, God redeemed the land for Israel in the Six-Day War, 1967, Jerusalem came back to Israel. unprecedented in history.
Ezekiel 36:8–11 (NKJV) 8 But you, O mountains of Israel, you shall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to My people Israel, for they are about to come. 9 For indeed I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown.
10 I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt.
11 I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bear young; I will make you inhabited as in former times, and do better for you than at your beginnings. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.
Ezekiel 36:24–28 (NKJV) 24 For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land.
25 Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.
26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
28 Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God.
Now Israel is in their land, they are the fig tree that Jesus told us to watch.
Matthew 24:32–35 (NKJV) 32 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! 34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
Today Israel ranked 8th most powerful country in the world.
One of the strongest militaries, major seller of fruits and flower’s to Europe. Just like the scripture say’s.
Isaiah 35:1–2 (NKJV) 1 The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; 2 It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, Even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, The excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord, The excellency of our God.
Then God gave this great prophecy about them coming back to life.
Ezekiel 37:1–14 (NKJV) 1The hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. 2 Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry.
3 And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” So I answered, “O Lord God, You know.”
4 Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord!
5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.
6 I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.” ’ ”
7 So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone.
8 Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them.
9 Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” ’ ”
10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.
11 Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!’
12 Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. 13 Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves. 14 I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken it and performed it,” says the Lord.’ ”
Church family we support Israel and we are blessed because of it.
We know also that hard days are coming for Israel so we need to continue to pray for this land.
Psalm 122:6 (NKJV) 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you.
Ezekiel 38-39 brings that a huge army will be coming against Israel and I believe this will be after the Rapture and all will have forsaken Israel.
This army will consist of Iran, Russia, Turkey, Sudan and Libya and other nation’s, but even with everyone forsaking them, God is going to show that He has not.
Ezekiel 38:8 (NKJV) 8 After many days you will be visited. In the latter years you will come into the land of those brought back from the sword and gathered from many people on the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate; they were brought out of the nations, and now all of them dwell safely.
They will come to take plunder. Israel had no plunder in 1948 but today the 8th. strongest nation.
Ezekiel 38:12 (NKJV) 12 to take plunder and to take booty, to stretch out your hand against the waste places that are again inhabited, and against a people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, who dwell in the midst of the land.
Ezekiel 38:16 (NKJV)16 You will come up against My people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land. It will be in the latter days that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me, when I am hallowed in you, O Gog, before their eyes.”
BUT GOD, even when all nation’s turn a blind eye.
Ezekiel 38:18–23 (NKJV) 18 “And it will come to pass at the same time, when Gog comes against the land of Israel,” says the Lord God, “that My fury will show in My face.
19 For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have spoken: ‘Surely in that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel,
20 so that the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field, all creeping things that creep on the earth, and all men who are on the face of the earth shall shake at My presence. The mountains shall be thrown down, the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.’
21I will call for a sword against Gog throughout all My mountains,” says the Lord God. “Every man’s sword will be against his brother.
22 And I will bring him to judgment with pestilence and bloodshed; I will rain down on him, on his troops, and on the many peoples who are with him, flooding rain, great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.
23 Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.” ’
These are exciting and can be scary time’s if you don’t know what’s going on, But we have a God who is outside of time and He has shown us the end from the beginning so we can stay in peace. So continue to look up, as our redemption is drawing near and know that God is not done with us or with the nation of Israel.
And the same way that God kept His covenant with Israel, He will keep it with us.
The Government of Israel, on Wednesday, 15 May 2024), unanimously approved Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's proposal to reject the UN General Assembly decision of 10 May 2024.
Prime Minister Netanyahu said:
"Today, the Government opposed last week's UN decision to advance recognition of a Palestinian state.
We will not reward the terrible massacre of October 7, which 80% of Palestinians, both in Judea and Samaria, and Gaza, support.
We will not allow them to establish a terrorist state from which they will be able to vigorously attack us.
Nobody will prevent us, will prevent Israel, from realizing our basic right to self-defense – neither the UN General Assembly nor any other body.
We will stand together with our head held high in order to defend our country."
In the framework of the rejection, the Government has determined:
1. To reject the UN General Assembly decision of 10 May 2024 to upgrade the status of the Palestinian Authority and give it additional privileges, which are usually reserved for UN member states.
2. To determine that nothing in the aforesaid decision will change the status of the territories in question; nothing in it will grant any right, or detract from any rights of the State of Israel and Jewish People in the Land of Israel.
3. To determine that the aforesaid decision will not constitute a basis for future negotiations, and does not advance a peaceful solution.
