Salvation, is more than simply repeating a prayer after a pastor, walking to the front of the church, or even getting baptized. Salvation is living a life completely and exclusively devoted to God.

Transformation

What do you think of when you think of being transformed?
My mind every time goes to the hulk. The transformation from Bruce Banner to the Hulk. Scene in the 1st avengers movies that captures this so well.
“A change in appearance or character”
Hulk - Transformed in both appearance and character.
Romans 12:2 ESV
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
So, in this passage Paul is talking about a change. Specifically a change with-in you.

Change = Scary

Change can be scary
- Puberty, New Grade, New Sports Team, New School, New House, there are several times in our lives where change can be scary.
- For me the scariest change I have yet to experience is the birth of Will.
- 01/25/2024 the day my son came into the world was one of the greatest yet scariest days of my life.
- The first time I held this small fragile baby it all hit me at once I am responsible for keeping him alive.
- No longer was a mini van something I made fun of, no longer was the “baby on board sticker” something I would never have!
- Since that day I have been transformed into something I wasn’t before… a father.
Just as Paul spoke in Romans, There was a change in me.

Transforming Love of Christ

In my opinion, one of the most beautiful depictions of transformation that Scripture gives is the book of Hosea.
Hosea a Profit = “to save or deliver” Hebrew
Chapter 1
God not only gives Hosea a message but calls him to be a message.
Hosea is to preach to the people of Israel repentance of their sins and redemption in God.
Hosea also is to marry a prostitute names Gomer and with her they had 3 children.
Gods call on Hosea’s life was to submit himself and his family to God, and would experience first hand what it means to love someone who is unfaithful.
Chapter 2
Hosea preaches to the people of Israel their unfaithfulness to God.
In their worship of Baal the people of Israel were unfaithful to God, but yet Gods message through Hosea was forgiveness.
Chapter 3
For the time Hosea and Gomer had been married she had constantly been unfaithful to him.
God directs Hosea to go again and show love to a woman that is unfaithful to him.
Hosea is obedient and has to buy back a woman who willingly left him and was willingly unfaithful to him.
In the difficulty of Hosea a beautiful picture of the unfailing and persistent love of God is painted.
Hosea
Through his life is a reflection of what God has done for us.
God purchased us not with money but with the blood of “His only begotten Son so that who ever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.”
Even in our unfaithfulness God has paid the price for us to be transformed Through His everlasting love.

Transformation in the spirit

2 Corinthians 3:18 ESV
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
To be transformed into the image of God, we must give the Holy Spirit permission to work in us from one level of spiritual development to the next.
